About Monica & Marco Pavelka

Marco and I have enjoyed all that Mammoth Mountain has to offer, since the 1980s. So when we had our first opportunity to purchase a second home, Mammoth was our first choice! We know what it is like to try to enjoy time in the mountains with your entire family (pets included) and that is why we decided to share our lovely condo with others. Because of its growing popularity, we never could squeeze in time for ourselves and so, we saved and purchased another 2 condos in Mammoth, inadvertently creating a little business for ourselves, called MammothSun Properties, LLC. We are not property managers per se, we are just a couple who love sharing our love for Mammoth with others. We leave the property management stuff to the experts!

Monica & Marco Pavelka purchased this condo in 2005

Why Monica & Marco Pavelka chose Mammoth Lakes

Sunshine Village #120 was a perfect location for us. We loved that it was set like a park, since we had 2 small children and 2 doxies at that time, who we knew would enjoy all that this complex had to offer. Sunshine Village #120 overlooks the tennis court and through the pine trees, you also get a view of the pool. The Sunshine Village Complex is also centrally located, which made it easy for us to get to the slopes and to the stores, which is very convenient.

What makes this condo unique

Sunshine Village #120 really feels like you are in a cabin, instead of a condo. From the river rock fireplace to the tones of the granite and cabinetry in the kitchen, Marco and I did much upgrading over the years, to give our guests the 'whole mountain experience'. We have added many little touches, so that visually, you can enjoy Mammoth inside and out!

Cozy Condo in Mammoth

  • 3 of 5

This place was okay for the price we paid to stay there. There were 6 of us who stayed from Friday night to Sunday morning. The chief complaint was that the Wi-Fi which was advertised, didn't work and I reported this to the lady that took our keys at check out so hopefully the owner will get this resolved before the next guests arrive. The tea kettle that was sitting on the stove when we arrived was leaking when we attempted to use it. The water pressure in the kitchen is not good at all. There was a broken measuring cup that we attempted to use, which leaked, and one of the serving bowls had tape on it to somehow mend a hole that it had. Also there weren't enough fire starters for use for an entire weekend and there should have been at least 3 extra rolls of toilet paper available for 6 people. Well aside from all of these complaints, we did have a decently enjoyable weekend. We did get a visit from the person downstairs saying there was water leaking into their unit from the bathroom and that they may contact us about the water being shut off, but nobody ever contacted us, nor was the water shut off while we were there. Not sure I'd come back to this property unless they spruced it up a bit. Good luck to the next folks who decide to rent from here. :)

Owner's Response: I am sorry that the wifi was not working, which would have been an easy fix, either to management or myself. Often, the wifi connection gets lost in the mountains and it is matter of simply rebooting the router. As for the toilet paper, again, a simple call to say you need more towels, toilet paper etc and management would have responded promptly. They are very good at these things. I guess it's time for a new tea kettle...

The place was great; very well-appointed, cozy and great location. Shuttle to slopes was across the street. Owner was very responsive. Great that owner allowed pets! Would stay here again.

Best Deal in Mammoth!

  • 5 of 5

The title isn't false advertising - this little condo definitely feels like a cabin. The five of us (myself, my wife, and three daughters - 10, 8, 6) stayed over four days this January and loved it. The location is perfect - there's a Vons not more than 60 seconds away by car - and a short walk led to a golf course covered in snow...a perfect little playground for the kids.

The kids also loved building a fire every night and then watching the stars come out through the skylights in the loft (which has three beds!). The little stuffed animals all around were a nice touch as well.

For Mammoth, the price was extremely fair and Monica was very easy to deal with when planning the trip. I'd stay here again and also recommend it to my friends.

MAMMOTH CABIN

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cute place! We especially liked to have our dog with us. Everything was clean and well stocked (linens, towels etc).

Just onne recommendation: the kitchen needs a few items: a sharp big knife set and more eating utensils.

Other than that, it was just PERFECT! :)

Thank you!

Cozy Cabin-Like Townhome

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this cozy, dog friendly, cabin-like condo! As soon as you step foot inside, you forget you're in a townhome. On top of being an adorable place to stay, it was also very clean and well stocked with bathroom and kitchen essentials as well as enough firewood to have lasted a week. We are very appreciative we were able to bring along our two furry friends and what a great deal. This condo was the cheapest overall, from the nightly rate right down to the pet and cleaning fees. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a plaace to stay in Mammoth.
