Medina House Rental Photos and Description
6 bedrooms, sleeps up to 13
Welcome to Dar Habiba, the heart and soul of Marrakech, an English owned and English speaking Riad hotel.
You will love the secluded location of the Riad, just a short straightforward walk from the tumultuous Jemma Al Fnaa square. You will appreciate the comfortable en suite rooms, spacious patio with dipping pool and stunning roof terraces. But most of all you will not forget the warmth of the welcome from our dedicated staff.
In Moroccan Arabic Habiba means close friend or sister. At Dar Habiba we truly hope you will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
Whether it’s a special occasion, a relaxed family holiday or a last minute get-away with friends exclusive use of a whole Riad is a fantastic way to enjoy Marrakech. Our accommodation is so flexible we can offer any combination of romantic doubles, fun and practical family rooms or luxurious twins and triples. When required we can equip a whole Riad with single beds (11 at Dar Habiba, 11 at Riad Papillon, 16 at Riad Cinnamon or 18 at Riad Star) providing ideal accommodation for yoga groups, dance holidays, or a girls weekend. The highlight of any group booking will be a banquet in the Riad, delicious food in a friendly relaxed atmosphere whether you dine by the pool or in a Berber tent on the roof terrace. We can even arrange a musician or dancer for your entertainment!
What makes this house unique
What really makes us special, and fantastic value for money, is the small team of dedicated staff in each of our Riads who will be on hand to help, reassure and advise throughout your stay. These perfect little boutique hotels each have just five to seven guest rooms so we can provide a truly personal service.
It is the small things that count: complimentary toiletries; breakfast served at the time of your choice; delicious evening meals individually prepared to your taste and dietary requirements; Wifi; a complimentary map of the old town; help booking restaurants and excursions; nothing seems to be too much trouble. We are pleased offer the loan of a local pay-as-you-go mobile to stay in touch with your English speaking hosts while you are out exploring.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Wonderful, superb accommodation and hospitality, would highly recommend and hope to return. Found on-line I contacted the London office by E-mail and telephone to book. Extremely helpful and personal service. On arrival at the airport we were personally met by a taxi and taken to the wall (15-20s mins journey). We were then escorted through the amazing rabbit warren of alleyways to Riad Papillon (Bougainvillea room) to spend one night (the English owners have three riads and shortly a fourth). Arriving in the evening I had pre-booked a three course Moroccan dinner prepared in-house by their fabulous cook - a truly memorable meal. Everything was ready and the riad full of lighted candles. Next morning a fantastic Morrocan breakfast on the gorgeous roof terrace. On request we were taken to Riad Cinnamon to look around (this one consists of suites instead of rooms and is close by). Later we transferred to Riad Dar Habiba (Berber room) for two nights, also with a stunning roof terrace. Staff are English speaking and were on hand to offer advice and assistance. You are given a mobile phone to carry in case you get lost etc! They have internet and things like restaurant recommendations were really useful. I booked to use the small hammam at Dar Habiba and they brought in a lovely girl to do the washing and massage for a very reasonable charge. Not the cheapest option in Marrakech the riads nevertheless offered great value for money and inexpensive by British standards. It was much more interesting and personal than a hotel, clean, very friendly, slightly 'quirky' and very individual, the owners have obviously thought about little details (eg, there are books and dvds around for guests) food can be ordered to suit and freshly prepared straight from the market, complimentary mint tea brought without even asking. Perfect locations close to the main square. Note, wine is available but you can bring your own (bought at the airport in the UK). Thank you to all the staff (Yassim and Mustafa and colleagues).
