UNIQUE, EXECUTIVE, RUSTIC, GATED HOME ON 4 PRIVATE ACRES

Chattanooga House Rental Photos and Description

3900sq ft 5 bdr, 5.5 bath with 2 screened in rooms, pool, hot tub, herb garden

Wow! Is how you will feel as you pull up to our gated home. If you enjoy bird watching and wildlife viewing (we see lots of bunnies, squirrels, deer, fox and turkeys) and can appreciate a rustic home this IS the perfect vacation home for you and your family. Over the 4 manicured acres you will find lots of photo opportunities from the unique bird houses and potting shed handmade from old salvaged architectural pieces, an herb garden, wishing well, a fabulous in ground swimming pool, cabana with hot tub surrounded by tropical plants such as banana trees, cannas, and elephant ears, the pool/hot tub area has a half bath, and a screened in eating area with a table and chairs. Around back there is a large timber tech deck with an outdoor cooking area equipped with gas grill and screened in living area, roast marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit table or laydown on the double chaise lounger looking up at the stars. Apple, fig and cork screw pussy willows are just some of the trees you will find. There is large playground for the kiddos which includes 2 slides, 2 swings, rock climbing and rope. The front yard is fairly flat and great for a family game of football or soccer. The front porch is welcoming with a swing and rocking chairs. Cedar siding and cedar shank roof give our home the cabin feel.

As you walk into the front door you will discover 14-foot vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams in the great room boasting oak pegged hardwood floors and a stacked stone wood burning fireplace. A great place to unwind with a glass of wine after a day of seeing all the fun and excitement that Chattanooga and the surrounding area has to offer. Be lazy on the couch searching over 250 channels of Direct TV on a 42' flat screen TV that includes the NFL Sunday Ticket and premium movie channels.

The great room opens to a chefs dream kitchen with plenty of granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances including a flat top stainless stove. Here you will find an abundance of space to cook and entertain with tons of cabinets and drawers filled with all of the cooking necessities. Easy cleaning with a double deep stainless sink and dishwasher overlooking the outdoor cooking area. The dining room area features a handmade aged pine dining room table sure to fit the whole family with a bench on one side and 5 chairs around.

Off of the great room/ kitchen/dining room the french doors open up to an outdoor living space. Relax in the comfort of one of the screened in areas on pottery barn cuddle couches. A GREAT place to sip on your morning coffee, bird watch or flip on the flat screen TV. For those cool spring and fall nights where the stars are abundant turn on the copper heater to warm up.

As you walk down the hall will see no details have been spared. Vintage pine corbels and bookcase with ladder greet you as you walk down the hallway to the rest of the home. Down that hallway you will find a full bath, pantry, and laundry area fully equipped with front end loader washer and dryer.

A stacked stone gas fireplace and sea grass furniture welcome you into the den. Let your creativity go wild in this brightly colored area...play our antique piano or pluck on the guitar. Off of the den you will find the sunroom a peaceful place to read a book, catch up on emails or facebook on the nations highest speed internet. The sunroom overlooks the outdoor courtyard area that leads to the potting shed made from old salvaged architectural pieces and herb garden full of our favorite's lemon mint, basil, oregano, tyme, rosemary, and dill.

French doors will lead you from the sunroom into the 'dinosaur room' my son's favorite! Here you will find the kids room with two twin beds. Already stocked with kids favorite reads, toys and tv. This room is a hit for 'kids' all ages. On the other side of the room an old barn door takes you to a full bath featuring travertine tile throughout and another old barn door.

Off of the other end of the den you will find the master suite. Spa like in every aspect from the smells of lavender and eucalyptus to hardwoods under your feet and above you with a tongue and groove vaulted ceiling...this is our personal oasis. Oversized travertine tiles in the master bath with a large soaking tub, handmade vanity with his and her sinks. Settle down on the pillow top king size bed and hope for a rainy night during your stay. The sound of the rain coming off the cedar shingle roof will make for a romantic evening.

As you walk upstairs you be able to tell you are in the original part of the 'cabin' built in the 1940's with the old hardwood floors. The first bedroom is filled with my grandmom's antique furniture with a double bed, 2 dressers, vanity, trunk, desk and flat screen tv. The second bedroom has my husband uncle's antique double bed. There is a full bathroom upstairs that has been completely remodeled with travertine tiled shower, handmade wood vanity and concrete vanity top.

As you walk downstairs in the basement there is a hidden door our 'wine' room. In the carpeted downstairs there is a queen bed on one side and play area with sofa, games and TV on the other and a full bathroom.

This home is by far the best ever to play hide and seek. Inside there are tons of closets/hiding places (2 in every room) and outside with the barn, shed, screened in rooms the layout of this home makes it so much fun with kids.

We grew up in Hixson, TN on the other side of Chattanooga. We met in high school at our alma mater Hixson High School. We relocated to various cities in South Carolina for our jobs. After having our son in 2008 we wanted to move back to Chattanooga to be closer to family and so our son could grow up in one of the best cities for kids. Circumstances have it that we bought a business in Scottsboro, AL and bounce back in forth from Chattanooga and Scottsboro. We absolutely love the uniqueness of this house and the Ooltewah area so we wanted to make it available to share with other folks when we can't be there.

We also own The River Inn Events a great place on the Tennessee River to have a rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, birthday party, or any special event. Ask about our special if you book both our home and event venue.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

When we drove up to this home we knew that this was the house for us. We wanted something rustic and welcoming yet with modern conveniences. I always wanted to live in a home that had 'my grandmom's house' comfy feeling, full of antiques and neat cubbies and hiding area's and you will see there are plenty of these. When we saw the bird houses and potting shed made with the salvaged architectural pieces, and the GREAT room where we LIVE when we are here to the spa like feeling in the master suite we fell in love with this house. It is a great home to entertain in and spend family time making memories. We hope that you enjoy the uniqueness and personality of this home just as much as we do while you are visiting.

We had 7 adults and 6 children in our group and everyone had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room and things to do for everyone.

Best Mountain Getaway Home!

  • 5 of 5
This home is so perfect that I have recently returned from my second stay there (within four months!). Both of my trips were on girls' getaway weekends of ten to twelve women. This home was more than equipped to sleep and entertain all of us. The spacious kitchen and living space was exactly what we needed to cook together, play games, and relax. The outdoor space is unreal - two screened in porches, large uncovered deck, pool, and hot tub. Unfortunately, both of my trips were during the winter months, so we weren't able to be outside very much. We did use the hot tub one January afternoon - felt just like were were at a mountain lodge. I will definitely return over the summer months to enjoy its complete amenities.

It's private, rustic feel provides the perfect ambiance for a mountain weekend, while being conveniently located to I-75. The drive into downtown Chattanooga is about thirty minutes, and well worth it for a dinner out, wine tasting, shopping, or exploring. We also enjoyed brisk jogs while admiring neighboring homes and fields.

This is the perfect home for large group getaways - large families, couples, or girls' weekends. The bedrooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are remarkable. The two bedrooms upstairs are connected and share one bathroom. This would be most ideal in a family or girls set-up, as there is a bit less privacy.

My only suggestions in the future would be to add a double oven in the kitchen, so cooking for a large group would be a little easier. I am sure the grill takes care of this though, in the summer time.

Again, I cannot wait to return to this home. The owner is exceptionally friendly, providing just the southern hospitality you would expect! I am so grateful for the love and generosity they have poured into their home and their guests.

Our Thanksgiving

  • 4 of 5
We had a wonderful time. The large family room was perfect for the whole gang, and the grandchildren (ages 20 months, 2 1/2 and 3 1/2) loved the dinosaur room, the toys and the outdoor play area. We ate all of our meals at the house since it's very hard to go out with small children, and we appreciated the kitchen and eating area being well -stocked with utensils. Thanks for the hospitality!

civil war reunion

A lovely house, lots of space and amenities. Even with some rainy weather, lots for kids to do, covered hot tub, plenty of flat screen tv's for college football watching. I would suggest marking the driveway more colorfully (or larger, reflective sign?), so late arrivals can find the driveway more easily. also a map of the inside light switches would save some time. A railing on the front porch steps would help older guests, and maybe a more gentle, level path across the front lawn for those with disabilities. But a great property, we really enjoyed it, convenient to good food choices and sights.

Perfect weekend near Chattanooga

  • 5 of 5
This house was everything we had hoped it would be and more. Ten of us (all adults) came from out of town for a long weekend near Chattanooga. We were so excited when this house was still available to rent. The owners were more than accommodating, made transactions quick and easy, and when I had a question while staying in the house I received immediate replies. The inside of the house is wonderful and charming and the outside even better. Lazy mornings and afternoons were spent lounging on the deck, swimming in the pool, and grilling at the BBQ. There are plenty of bathrooms (all beautiful!) and bedrooms (just take note that the dinosaur room isn't ideal for adult males, as my dear friends found out ... but the sofas are comfortable if need be). We traveled into Chatt every day which was quick and easy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and we all said that we would come stay there again in a heart beat. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!
