Since calling New Orleans home over the last 5 yrs,I have resided in 5 different neighborhoods
This is the best neighborhood.
Location,walking to everything you need.
Walking to streetcar for what in not within walking distance.
Live with the locals.
What a perfect home. Cannot beat the location. Will definitely stay again! Thanks so much, Susie!
We could not have been happier with our stay! The neighborhood is really nice, and the cafe next door is INCREDIBLE! We had one of the best meals there we've had in New Orleans (and we are "locals" from Baton Rouge). Suzie's place is just precious, very comfortable, and she is very attentive! My mother and her significant other were with us (they are from TN) and excited to really be in a neighborhood and not in a hotel in the quarter. I can't say enough great things!
Awesome house ...everything that you expect from a vacation home and more !
Perfect location , literally less that a minute walk to magazine street and about a 5 minute walk to the st. Charles trolley !
Clean, comfortable and cozy ! Kids loved it ..thanks for everything Susie ! See you soon !
Our Voodoo Experience Weekend Trip, turned in to my Fiance and myself eloping in our fav City of New Orleans. Trying to find the perfect location for a quick Wedding Ceremony, was not as easy, until we realized we had the perfect location, in the backyard of this adorable home that we had rented. The Owner Susie, went out of her way to make the morning of the Wedding extra special, by even making me a flower bouquet to hold (for which I shall remain eternally grateful), and ended up being a Witness on our Marriage License.
The property itself, was perfect for the 4 of us staying. We loved the location and being in the Garden District which was a refreshing change from the craziness of French Quarters or Bourbon. The area has several cafes, restaurants, bars etc owned and operated by the Locals and is not overly crowded by Tourists. You really get a feel for the Nola Locals by being in this area and we absolutely appreciated it.
Can't say enough about Susie, her hospitality, her knowledge of the area, her eclectic sense of decor and her infectious personality.
We are already planning our next stay back at her property.
I have always loved visiting the Garden District and was looking forward to the experience of staying there. I live only 1 hr away but being here is a whole other world :-). As far as the property goes, it is super adorable! Love the decor. The garden out back is so peaceful. Quiet neighborhood. I stayed there with my parents and my 7 yr old. I stayed in the bedroom closest to kitchen. Comfy bed! The only downfall we had was weather related so we were not well prepared. Temps dropped drastically and house is not insulated. It does have a gas heater in living area and one of the bedrooms. Those can only do so much for so it made for a very cold night. Bbrrrr. The kitchen is well stocked, as is the linens and towels. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Plan on staying again but definitely in the warmer weather. I cannot stress enough how wonderfully located this gem is! Literally around the corner from all the beauty of Magazine St. Thanks again to Ms. Susie for all the help Ms. Susie! Very pleasant to deal with. Greeted us with a big southern welcome, music and all! My parents, who are from the North, are also looking forward to returning!
My friend and I just spent a week at this neighborhood gem! Location superb in the heart of a great section of Magazine Street (2 short blocks away): restaurants, bars, grocery, shops, coffee house. The number 11 bus runs frequently on Magazine and will get you down to Canal street very quickly. Slightly further walk to the St. Charles streetcar, but easily done (about 8 blocks). Could not have been more pleased with the location! Do not miss Atchafalya on the corner for lunch or dinner and the Dat Dog on Magazine for the best hot dog selection you will every see! The house itself was better than depicted on the website. Not only was it uniquely decorated, but clean and well-maintained. Susie, the owner, has even stocked a couple of cabinets full of items you might have forgotten or need. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. Great linens and lot of towels. Finally, Susie, the owner was GREAT and very responsive. Almost afraid to give this rental such a high review for fear I will never be able to get it again. Thank you Susie for an awesome trip to NOLA!
Walk up Louisiana Ave to the St. Charles streetcar.Go to the quarter,go to Audubon Park to play golf or go to the zoo.
Better yet, don't leave the neighborhood at all.
Walk around the block off Laurel Street to Magazine Street you'll be in the 3000 block.
Watch the Saints at The Bull Dog,eat at Coquette followed by gelato at La Devina. Maybe you prefer to shop and shop you can. Great shoes,cigars,decorators/design shops, art gallery's,endless clothing store, vintage stores & the most exquisite antique stores on the map are here for you.
