We are a retired couple who grew up in New Mexico. We love the mountains and the river. We hope you enjoy this cabin as much as we do!
David and Barbara Benedict purchased this cabin in 2012
This has been described by many as having the best view on the river. We agree!
Ruidoso Downs horse racetrack. All American Futurity (Worlds Richest Horserace) - Labor Day. Cabin is close to town, shopping, restaurants, fishing, hiking, gambling, and other activities.
My family had a great time. The deer migrated through the area on a daily basis.
We loved this cabin! It was clean, well stocked, and is in an excellent location! The river runs behind it and there are large windows viewing the river and a fantastic deck overlooking the river. Just beautiful. We hope to stay here next time we are in Ruidoso!
This house was our best rental in Ruidoso yet! We will be staying here again. The fireplace, numerous deer and the patio overlooking the river made this stay a great one. It snowed the last night we were there and made it even more memorable.
This cabin is in our favorite area of Ruidoso. Generous deck overlooking a very impressive view of the river. Kitchen and living area windows also make the most of this view. Cabin is comfy, cozy and had everything we needed.
We had a great time in a virtual winter wonderland! It snowed several inches the day before we left, so just perfect for a winter getaway.
The fireplace (yay ~ a real wood fire!) & the view are awesome! We were looking for quiet & it was utterly peaceful! We sat by the fire & read or just stared at it!
We rode the snow sleds on Sunday when the sun came out & warmed things up a bit... *:) happy we may be seniors but we're young at heart!! Also went down to the river & sat on the rocks ~ the sounds of the water on the rocks is deeply restful.
All the amenities for having a hot breakfast, even having the WiFi available was great. It was a home away from home for us.
We also really appreciated having nice mattresses as so many cabins buy the cheapest & it's hard to enjoy your days if you don't sleep comfortably!
We are planning to return as soon as we can!
We very much enjoyed our stayed at this cabin! The view from the back porch was perfect and we saw MANY tame deer. My children got nearly close enough to pet them! Our two older children enjoyed having their own large beds, and the master closet was large enough for our baby to sleep in his pack-and-play near us.
The area is very nice, and the property is in the perfect location on the river. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and watched the parade.
There were only a few minor downsides. One of the burners on the stove wasn't working, and there were a few kitchen supplies I would have liked in cooking - a nice chef's knife, for example. But it really was a very lovely cabin and a great choice for a family!
Perfect for Honeymooners or families up to 6 children!
