Hello, I'm Pam.

My husband Daniel, our 8 year old daughter and I live in Denver. Over the years, we have fallen in love with the Grand Lake area. We are thrilled to own a cabin here and excited to share it with others.

I grew up in Chicago and Daniel hails from New Mexico. We both have a passion for vintage cars and scooters. We had the fortune of meeting at a vintage scooter rally in 1996. Daniel can fix just about anything and I have an obsession with organization, order and tidiness. Hopefully these will prove to be great talents for owning a vacation rental.

Pamela & Daniel Rieke purchased this house in 2012

Our Denver neighbors have a cabin in Grand Lake. While they would spend time in Grand Lake, we would watch their Denver house, feed their cat, collect their mail and keep an eye on things for them. In exchange, they offered up their Grand Lake cabin for us to use on occasion. We quickly understood why they loved coming here as we grew fond of it too. We researched other areas in Colorado, but none attracted us like the Grand Lake area. We are putting a lot of love and thought into the Pine Beach Cabin and hope it shows.

After looking at a lot of properties in Grand Lake, we knew upon walking in that the Pine Beach Cabin was the one for us. It has a spacious and comfortable feeling. The kitchen/dining/main room area share a nice, open space and there is a great flow to the layout. The views are amazing and the land has a secluded feeling with aspen and pine trees abound. We feel very fortunate to have found it. We love the proximity to town and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

COZY CABIN IN THE ROCKIES

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here for the week of Xmas and the cabin was perfect. It is somehow even nicer than it looks in the photos and we were more than comfortable in it for the week. Plus there was no shortage of fun activities in Grand Lake and the surrounding areas. The owner even put up a Xmas tree with lights for us! Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Hi! I'm so glad you were comfortable and enjoyed the cabin. You're right, there is a lot to do in the area in winter (as well as summer!). Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, Hot Sulphur mineral hot springs, sledding, .....
Thanks again for choosing my cabin!!

COZY CABIN IN THE PINES

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely time in this comfortable cabin in early October. It's one of the best equipped cabins we've ever rented. We did a lot of walking around the neighborhood and on the trails near the lake, and we loved eating our lunch up on the Adirondack chairs behind the cabin -- what a view! I did quite a bit of cooking there, and I especially appreciated the crock pot when we woke up to 5" of snow! All the reviews of this cabin are quite accurate, and I would look forward to staying there again.

PERFECT WEEKEND RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
Four of us - two couples - spent a long weekend at this cabin planning for a business adventure and just spending some time strengthening our friendships. It was the perfect setting - enough privacy that we could be alone when we wanted to be,but also enough common space that we could eat, meet, and hang out without feeling crowded.

The kitchen was more than stocked, and there were plenty of linens and paper products available. The sleeping arrangements were good, although the walls are a little thin, and we thought it odd that the master bedroom doesn't have the king size bed...but none of that was a big deal - just mentioning it so others are aware.

The bathrooms were great...really nice to have that half bath! All had exhaust fans (promotes privacy!), and while I'm usually not a fan of shores without a tub, this one had a removable spray wand, so that solved that problem! Water pressure was great, and we had plent of hot water to go around.

The views are spectacular! We spent some time around the fire pit out front, and used the grill daily.

Recommendation for future guests: bring your own fans, if you like to have air moving. There are two doors that can be open with screens, and two windows that open - one in the dining room and one in the queen/master bedroom. We couldn't figure out the a/c controls (it is programmed), so we kept things open during the day; however, to get circulation, we had to keep the main bathroom doors open and the adjoining door between the two bedrooms. At night time, we closed everything up, and it got a little stuffy with bedroom doors shut. If we had brought a fan, it wouldn't have bothered us so much. Again, definitely not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of for future guests!

Overall, this was the perfect weekend retreat. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Pam, for all the details that are taken care f, and for your EXCELLENT communication! If all rental owners were like you, we would do this more often!

SUMMER STAY TO HIKE AND BIKE

  • 5 of 5
The experience the four of us had at the house was great! The house was extremely clean, there were the necessary items to grill out steaks and have hearty meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the location was great. I saw a moose in the neighborhood dining on the neighbor down the street's landscaping on two of the three days I went jogging in the early morning.

All in all, the house was very much as advertised and I would recommend it to others who are looking to be in the area but not right in the town. The house is located in a housing development where others have strategically built their homes/get away vacation spots. Enjoy!

Owner's Response: It's so exciting to see moose and other animals in the neighborhood, I'm glad you got to!

Even though there are other houses in the area, the Pine Beach Cabin does have an isolated, 'in the woods' feel to it.

Thanks for the nice review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay!
Best Wishes,

Our stay was relaxed and serene. The cabin worked out perfectly for our group, especially the kitchen which exceeded our expectations. We would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants the woodsy environment while being close to town.

Pine Beach Cabin is located 3 miles from downtown Grand Lake with beautiful lake and mountain views. There are a lot of attractions nearby, some of our personal favorites are:

Rocky Mountain National Park is a mere 3 miles away. RMNP offers scenic drives, hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, nature walks, biking, ... there's lots to see and do. Stop by the Kawuneeche Visitor Center to view a 20 minute movie about the park and the kids can participate in the Jr. Ranger program. During the summer you can drive over Trail Ridge Road, one of America's 10 Top Byways, connecting Grand Lake to Estes Park.

Grand Lake is known as the Snowmobile Capital of Colorado with over 300 miles of snowmobile trails. More than 100 miles of ATV trails are in or around Grand Lake.

Nearby Winter Park Resort and Granby Ranch offer skiing and snowboarding, tubing/sledding, alpine slide...

The Nordic Center, 4 miles away, has excellent ski and snowshoe trails with a view bar none. There's a free kid's tubing hill (tubes provided free with suggested donation), sure to provide hours of fun! After your finished playing in the snow, warm up by the fireplace in the lodge with a bowl of soup.

Adams Falls is a nice family friendly hike less than a mile out and back. Hike to the water fall or continue on for a longer hike.

Grand Lake Village (3 miles away) offers shopping & dining. Enjoy a stroll along the wooden boardwalk and view the rustic architecture. Stop at the Town Square for summer bingo or music in the park. There's a great play park for the kiddos.

Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa (just over 20 miles away) is open year-round. They have 21 mineral pools & baths without any chemicals. There is also a summer swimming pool.
