A huge closet & a dresser offer plenty of space. An alarm clock is in the bedroom and a hairdryer is provided in the bathroom.

The second bedroom has a king-size bed, a closet and a private 1/2 bath. An alarm clock is in the bedroom and a hairdryer is provided in the bathroom.

The 3rd bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds, perfect for a 'kids room' or an overflow of adults. There is a television with a DVD player in this room.

The main room has a great vintage wood burning fireplace, so cozy. There are 2 couches, one that turns into a comfortable queen-size sleeper. Cable television and a DVD/VHS player is in this room.

In the warmer months there are a couple of Adirondack chairs up there and it's a wonderful place to enjoy the views and have an evening glass of wine or morning cup of coffee.

There's an assortment of movies, games, puzzles, children's toys and books to enjoy.

A washer and dryer are available for your use, detergent, stain remover and fabric softener are provided. *Please note, from about November - March the washing machine is disconnected. I've had problems with the drain line freezing and found it best to disconnect it during the winter.

About Pamela & Daniel Rieke

Hello, I'm Pam.

My husband Daniel, our daughter and I live in Denver, Colorado. Over the years, we have fallen in love with the Grand Lake area. We are thrilled to own a cabin here and excited to share it with others.

I grew up in Chicago and Daniel hails from New Mexico. We both have a passion for all things vintage, including furnishings, cars and scooters. We met at a vintage scooter rally in 1996. Daniel can fix just about anything and I have an obsession with organization, order and tidiness. Hopefully these will prove to be great talents for owning a vacation rental.

Pamela & Daniel Rieke purchased this house in 2012

Why Pamela & Daniel Rieke chose Grand Lake

Our neighbors have a cabin in Grand Lake and while they would spend time in there, we would watch their Denver house, feed their cat, collect their mail and keep an eye on things for them. In exchange, they offered up their Grand Lake cabin for us to use on occasion. We quickly understood why they loved coming here as we grew fond of it too. We researched other areas in Colorado, but none attracted us like the Grand Lake area. We put a lot of love and thought into the Pine Beach Cabin and hope it shows. :)

What makes this house unique

After looking at a lot of properties in Grand Lake, we knew upon walking in that the Pine Beach Cabin was the one for us. It has a spacious and comfortable feeling. The kitchen/dining/main room area share a nice, open space and there is a great flow to the layout. The views are amazing and the land has a secluded feeling with aspen and pine trees abound. We feel very fortunate to have found it. We love the proximity to town and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Grand Lake Get Away

  • 5 of 5
My wife & I enjoyed a great 3 days visiting the beautiful scenery of Grand Lake. Fall is a great time to come and see the fall colors. This was a last minute trip and Pam was very quick to respond to our request. The home was very close to Grand Lake as well as Rocky Mountain National Park. The home had everything that we needed to sit back and relax especially after a long day of hiking.

Fun, Functional, Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5
The size of the space exceeded my expectations! Large living room with large windows created an open, airy feel - and we were very entertained by the hummingbirds feeding just outside the window. The kitchen is also large, open and very well stocked (plenty of dishes, pots, pans, wine glasses, cooking utensils, food storage containers, basic spices and grill tools; grill is very large). Bedrooms are good sized and are fairly well-insulated for sound (maybe not fabulous - but with a 1.5 yr old in the group any sound-proofing is challenging, so we ran the fan for white noise). We maxed at 6 adults and 2 kids and never felt cramped or confined. Their are neighboring properties but they are well-screened with pine and aspen trees, and the neighborhood is quiet. The sitting area up the back hill is fabulous for wide-open, scenic views, happy hour and morning coffee. We roasted marshmallows over the front fire pit. The style is eclectic (mid-century moose!), comfortable and warm. Pam, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return!

A month in the high mountains

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I spent a full four weeks at the rental house. The house was comfortable, clean and well equipped. It was a lot of space for two. However, my son with two small children visited for a week, and that, too, was entirely comfortable. We enloyed the lovely surrounding and the many activities at the Rocky Mountain National Park and around the three lakes. Coming from Texas, we especially liked the cool temperatures, we turned on the heat on more than one morning.

Cozy Cabin in the Rockies

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here for the week of Xmas and the cabin was perfect. It is somehow even nicer than it looks in the photos and we were more than comfortable in it for the week. Plus there was no shortage of fun activities in Grand Lake and the surrounding areas. The owner even put up a Xmas tree with lights for us! Highly recommended.

Thanks again for choosing my cabin!!

Cozy Cabin in the Pines

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely time in this comfortable cabin in early October. It's one of the best equipped cabins we've ever rented. We did a lot of walking around the neighborhood and on the trails near the lake, and we loved eating our lunch up on the Adirondack chairs behind the cabin -- what a view! I did quite a bit of cooking there, and I especially appreciated the crock pot when we woke up to 5" of snow! All the reviews of this cabin are quite accurate, and I would look forward to staying there again.

Perfect Weekend Retreat

  • 5 of 5
Four of us - two couples - spent a long weekend at this cabin planning for a business adventure and just spending some time strengthening our friendships. It was the perfect setting - enough privacy that we could be alone when we wanted to be,but also enough common space that we could eat, meet, and hang out without feeling crowded.

The kitchen was more than stocked, and there were plenty of linens and paper products available. The sleeping arrangements were good, although the walls are a little thin, and we thought it odd that the master bedroom doesn't have the king size bed...but none of that was a big deal - just mentioning it so others are aware.

The bathrooms were great...really nice to have that half bath! All had exhaust fans (promotes privacy!), and while I'm usually not a fan of shores without a tub, this one had a removable spray wand, so that solved that problem! Water pressure was great, and we had plent of hot water to go around.

The views are spectacular! We spent some time around the fire pit out front, and used the grill daily.

Recommendation for future guests: bring your own fans, if you like to have air moving. There are two doors that can be open with screens, and two windows that open - one in the dining room and one in the queen/master bedroom. We couldn't figure out the a/c controls (it is programmed), so we kept things open during the day; however, to get circulation, we had to keep the main bathroom doors open and the adjoining door between the two bedrooms. At night time, we closed everything up, and it got a little stuffy with bedroom doors shut. If we had brought a fan, it wouldn't have bothered us so much. Again, definitely not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of for future guests!

Overall, this was the perfect weekend retreat. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Pam, for all the details that are taken care f, and for your EXCELLENT communication! If all rental owners were like you, we would do this more often!

Pine Beach Cabin has beautiful lake and mountain views and is located just 3 miles from Grand Lake Village. There are a lot of attractions nearby, some of our personal favorites are:

Rocky Mountain National Park is a mere 3 miles away. RMNP offers scenic drives, hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, nature walks, biking, ... there's lots to see and do. Stop by the Kawuneeche Visitor Center to view a 20 minute movie about the park and the kids can participate in the Jr. Ranger program. During the summer you can drive over Trail Ridge Road, one of America's 10 Top Byways, connecting Grand Lake to Estes Park.

Grand Lake is known as the Snowmobile Capital of Colorado with over 300 miles of snowmobile trails. More than 100 miles of ATV trails are in or around Grand Lake. No snowmobile or ATV? No problem, there are several places to rent them from.

Nearby Winter Park Resort (35 miles away) and Ski Granby Ranch (15 miles away) offer skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing/sledding, alpine slide, dining, horse carriage rides, ...

The Nordic Center, 3 miles away, has excellent ski and snowshoe trails with a view bar none. There's a free kid's tubing hill (tubes provided free with suggested donation), sure to provide hours of fun! After you're finished playing in the snow, warm up by the fireplace in the lodge with a bowl of soup, hot cocoa, or glass of wine and play one of the board games provided.

Adams Falls is a nice family friendly hike less than a mile out and back. Hike to the water fall or continue on for a longer hike. In the winter, you can rent snowshoes from one of several places in town and snowshoe to the water fall.

Grand Lake Village (3 miles away) offers shopping & dining. Enjoy a stroll along the wooden boardwalk and view the rustic architecture. Take a walk along the lake. Stop at the Town Square for summer bingo or music in the park. There's a great play park for the kiddos.

Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa (just over 20 miles away) is open year-round. They have 21 mineral pools & baths without any chemicals. There is also a summer swimming pool.
