I spent a lot of time looking for a house to rent for 8 adults last July and chose Villa Kohinoor...and we were not disappointed. The villa is stunning – the views are AMAZING, the size of the bedrooms and bathrooms is fantastic, and the pool and all of the little details have been really well thought out.
Usually in a holiday rental, there are little things missing, but I can honestly say that there wasn’t one thing we needed during the week that wasn’t already there.
Some of us went to Patara beach during the late afternoons, which is really nice, but most of us were so relaxed and happy at the villa that we just stayed there relaxing by the pool every day! It is a view you can never get tired of.
Patara is great for Kite Surfing when there is wind. If you take a right just before 'Harrods of Patara', past all the little restaurants you eventually get to a dirt track which takes you to the middle of the beach, away from the crowds, and you don't have to pay the national park entrance fee. However, you do have to walk over some sand dunes (about 10-15 minutes walk) to get to the beach, and beware that the sand gets VERY hot (socks and flipflops recommended, not a good look, but less painful!)
I would recommend that you have a car if staying here, as it is up a very steep hill (which is why it has such great views), and if you want to go to the beach, you do need a car. Do NOT get your car from Erboy at Dalaman (long story).
The property was spotless, the management company came every morning to sweep up, take away our bins and take care of the pool. They were really helpful, and didn’t mind at all when we turned up in the middle of the night after our flight was delayed. They also organised a gulet trip for us on one day which was much cheaper than going down to the marina and organising it ourselves.
The property owner Rus was always really responsive and booking was easy.
I would not hesitate in going back to Kalkan and would definitely book Villa Kohinoor again...in fact one of our party has already booked it again for a family holiday next year!!!
