Honu Kai Hideaway is located along the renowned stretch of beaches that make up Oahu's North Shore. The North Shore is known for it's country living, relaxed lifestyle, beautiful surfing beaches, eclectic shopping and pleasurable restaurants.
Honu Kai Hideaway is remarkably more light and airy than other Kuilima Estate condos because additional large windows showcase our expansive view with a 'treetop' feel. The private Lanai is perfect for relaxing outdoors or enjoying meals al fresco.
The condo is fully furnished including flat screen HD TV, WIFI, and Cable TV. (However, it should be noted that Internet service and Wi Fi are often spotty and intermittent on the North Shore).
The kitchen is full-sized with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. (Barbecues are available poolside). A washer and dryer is included within the unit. The bedroom offers a Cal King bed with air conditioning in the bedroom.
Honu Kai Hideaway is located on the East side of Kuilima Estates and is surrounded by two championship golf courses. Some of the amenities available to guests include tennis courts and two swimming pools each of which includes a barbeque area. A short walk and you are at the Turtle Bay Hotel which has many terrific restaurants, a great pool bar, entertainment and magnificent beaches. There are many activities on the property that can be booked at either the Hotel concierge desk or the the Activities Center. One can choose from horseback riding, bicycle or moped rentals, surf lessons and helicopter rides. Golf can be booked at the golf pro shop which is also home to Lei Lei’s restaurant a favorite of locals.
Fabulous eating options abound within the Resort and on the North Shore; A scenic 15-30 minute drive in either direction offers a sumptuous variety of local, international or resort cuisine. Locally grown fruit and vegetable stands are just down the road. Ted's Bakery is less than 10 minutes away (Chocolate Haupia Pies!). We also have a delightful grocery store, Foodland which is just 20 minutes away.
Historic Haleiwa town, a 30 minute drive, is an old whaling village and has become a shopper's paradise and restaurant-lovers delight. Yet it still maintains it's old town charm.
Every conceivable water activity is easily available to you here at the Resort and on the North Shore: Surfing, Sunbathing, Diving, Snorkeling, Tide Pools, Whale Watching, Fishing, Jet Skiing and more. Lessons are available for anyone with a desire to learn.
In addition to all the activities and amenities of Turtle Bay Resort there are countless activities for the energetic visitor. Exploring the magnificent North Shore beaches as well as fabulous hiking trails including the trail to Waimea Falls. Other must-sees for the active visitor are Waimea Botanical Gardens, Polynesian Cultural Center and Haleiwa Town.
The winter months bring added excitement when the waves swell to huge proportions and pro surfers from all over the world assemble to compete in the Triple Crown of Surfing. This is a fabulous spectator sport not to be missed if you are fortunate enough to visit during this time. You can always find sheltered beaches and smaller waves to enjoy the water if the huge ones 'aren't your thing'.
Our family loves the North Shore of Oahu! It is what Hawaii is all about . . . a magnificent tropical destination where you can immerse yourself in a warm culture, while experiencing a wide variety of island activities. Our family has lived on the islands of Hawaii for over 20 years. We love the uniqueness of each island, but we are especially fond of Oahu's North Shore. Here we experience an older 'laid back' vibe that is reminiscent of 'Old Hawaii.' Because we are a family of surfers we feel fortunate to live on these beaches that are the 'best in the world.' The North Shore offers so much to visitors and locals alike and we are delighted to share Honu Kai Hideaway with you.
The Turtle Bay Resort property is one of the most beautiful tropical destinations in the world. Numerous paths lead away from the center of the resort to beautiful sparkling beaches that are amazingly remote. We love watching the horses that graze around the property. We are regulars at the restaurants: Lei Leis for Barbecue Ribs, Caesar Salad with Ahi and Mai Tais. Ono's for Fresh Fish and romantic dinners. The Pool Bar for drinks at sunset. We love the friendly, relaxed vibe of Turtle Bay.
The location of Honu Kai Hideaway sets it apart from all the other condos on the property. We are the upper end unit furthest removed from the other condos around us.
Once inside, you will feel like you are alone in your own treehouse.
HonuKai Hideaway is located on the Turtle Bay Resort property on the North Shore of Oahu. Turtle Bay Resort is one of the most dramatically stunning in all of Hawaii.
