There are fantastic restaurants just at your doorstep; your only problem will be choosing which one to eat in first! You are only a 15 minutes walk from the Gare du Nord station, makes arriving from the Thalys, Eurostar or the RER B from the airport, quick and easy.
You can use any of the three stations to move around the city, with Republique providing the most options with 5 lines. The 75 bus line, witch has a stop very close to the apartment, can take you over to the Hotel de Ville. Just across the Place de la Republique is the Marais.
To the East of the apartment lie Belleville and Menilmontant, the home of the toiling masses of the French Revolution, now largely redeveloped and housing many of Paris' migrant communities. For children and picnicking adults, enjoy the open space of the Jardin Villemin along the Canal or take the metro up to the Buttes de Chaumont which though little known to tourists is well worth a visit for its large green spaces, waterways and architectural delights (including the town hall of the 19th district just outside).
