|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
In a quiet neighborhood in the northeast corner of Columbia Falls you will be central to all the activities the Flathead County has to offer. At the head of the North Fork Road you are only a few minutes from The North Fork River, Flathead National Forest and Glacier National Park.
Enjoy a very private, forested environment 150yds up the hill from the Flathead River which supports abundant wildlife. Expect visits by wild animals such as white tail deer, turkeys, many different birds, we've even had raccoons on the deck and a moose ate our Bing cherry tree! The top story of the house is street level where you enter from the west and north then opens up to 2nd story living to the east and the south where you leave the neighborhood behind. Many windows in the home let the outside in with lots of natural light. Opening the glass French doors from the main living area onto the 2nd story log railed deck that wraps around the east and south sides of the house expands the living space to the outdoors. You'll feel as though you live in a tree house. The lower level of the house daylights out to the east and south with glass French doors leading from the downstairs family room to a patio covered by the 2nd story deck. The moonlight, the outdoor lighting and many trees and shrubs cast shadows that play beautifully throughout the house and property at night. When the snow settles on the tree bows and the deck railing you are wrapped in winter wonderland. The knotty hickory cabinetry and knotty pine trim with the log accents add to the warmth of this in-floor radiant heated home. An indoor sauna will help you sink into comfort after a hard day at play.
With an open floor plan and a well stocked kitchen we hope to make cooking/baking and entertaining as convenient and easy as possible. There will be many herbs growing in the planters/flower beds when in season, for your use. We will also stock herbs and spices, flour, sugar and any other basic staples we can think of for your convenience. Bathrooms will also have some emergency toiletry supplies.

My name is Valerie , I was born and raised here and my husbands name is Denny and he has lived here most of his life. Our children are gone now and we would like to go spend some of our semi-retirement years with our horses and other critters on some small acreage we have out of town ... in a smaller house. We want to keep this house and we could use extra retirement income so vacation rental is an excellent option for us. We hope you enjoy this home as much as we have.
Valerie purchased this house in 2004
We love the beauty and majesty of this country, it has been a constant reminder to us of Gods Creation and His Love for Us. This home has been a Blessing for us as we will try to make it a Blessing for you.
This home is in a neighborhood on the edge of town, within only a minute of downtown Columbia Falls and all of its amenities and yet central and close to all of the activities in the Flathead Valley. On this special little property we are surrounded by the trees and mountains we love. As soon as you enter the property, the neighborhood seems to disappear as you are wrapped in nature and a very relaxing setting. You can occasionally hear the train whistle 1/4 mile away when outside or when the windows or doors are open.
Our extended family of 5 adults and one infant stayed at this very clean, lovely home. The home is located within 10 miles of Glacier International Airport and 20 miles of West Glacier National Park entrance. The peaceful deck provided a quite spot for reading and watching birds. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, utensils, pots/pans, and paper goods (sandwich bags, foil, plastic wrap). Valerie, the owner, offered to assist with area recommendations and accommodated us with an early check in. I highly recommend this VRBO rental.
This home had everything we could think of needing for our comfort. The description and pictures were exactly as posted. It's a short drive to West Glacier and Whitefish, but much less expensive than accommodations in both of those places as Columbia Falls is less "touristy". I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
The property was very nice. If you wanted to cook, this was the home. Many small appliances, pots and pans, spices, etc were available for use. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean (it was nice to use a full size bar of soap!) The home owners were very good about leaving detailed instructions. The only suggestion I would have is to have a journal available (we like to read ideas that others renters have had).
I agree with the other reviewers, this was a perfect place to stay while visiting Glacier NP. The home was well located, very clean, comfortable and incredibly well stocked. Our group of six adults and one dog were very happy here and Valerie was a pleasure to work with. There are two good grocery stores very close by, but don't shop until first checking in because the home is equipped with so many of the basic needs for cooking. This home is also well located to visit Whitefish and the Flathead Forest with great hiking. For dog owners who plan to walk their dog in the neighborhood, just be aware there seemed to be lots of dogs in the area who were not restrained, so bring a leash (actually Valerie even provides those in case you forget!).
Everything needed for an excellent stay is yours here! The kitchen is very well stocked with spices, tools, pots, pans & serving dishes. The photos truly don't do the house the justice, since it is well decorated, more than comfortable & simply homey & fun. We loved the yard also. Books are readily available & a DVD of Glacier shirts on the coffee table. I'll be recommending Val, who was very accommodating, and her beautiful home!
This is a great house about a 25 minute drive to the Glacier Park west entrance. It's about as close to the park you can get without staying at a lodge inside or just outside the park or at an RV camp.
The house was immaculately clean and well stocked with everything you could need, especially in the kitchen (even supplies for packing lunches to take with us on hikes in the park).
The porch was great to relax and eat meals on.
The owner provided helpful info about the area. Columbia Falls has very good grocery stores and some food options. Whitefish is only a 20 minute drive and has a nice street with small shops and good restaurants.
Trains did go by throughout the day and night with a surprisingly loud horn but after the first night they didn't bother us.
The only thing that surprised me was that the house is in a much denser neighborhood than I expected from the pictures and description. There is a little apartment community next to the house and there were often kids outside playing, but the neighborhood was still overall pretty quiet. I would definitely stay at the house again.
Our central location in the Flathead Valley gives you more time to play. We are 15 min. from Glacier International Airport, Glacier National Park, 30 min. to Whitefish Mountain and 5 min. to 4+ star Golfing.
