Unusual, romantic apartment full of atmosphere in one of Florence's oldest areas - that once occupied by the Roman amphitheatre. The apartment offers 2 double bedrooms (one with a French bed - 140x200 cm ), a fully appointed kitchen, a marble dining table for 6. It is tastefully furnished with the owner's personal belongings and is equipped with a TV, DVD and CD player, stereo, WI-FI, dishwasher, washing-machine, air cond

Fantastic apartment right in the centre!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment for a week whilst visiting Florence and Tuscanny. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What we enjoyed the most about the apartment was its perfect location. It is right in the historical centre which means you can walk to all the sites. There is also a great Gelato place right outside and a lot of nice restaurants. It was very easy to walk through the historical street of Florence in the evening and to enjoy this beautiful city.

The apartment was very clean and had all the facilities you can wish for. The beds were particularly comfortable. The original features and the quirky decor made the apartment feel special. Much more fun to stay there than a characterless hotel room.

We would definitely stay there again. And finally, a big thanks to Fabrizio for being a wonderful host and coming to pick us up at the airport. A very nice gesture.

Excellent. Great location and value for money.

Agree with all that's written here. We had a great week, family of 4, 2 student-age children.

Fabrizio was an excellent host, met us from the airport and gave us a brief tour of the city centre which was very helpful orientation. We didn't take him up on the day trip suggestion, preferring to do our own thing, but have no doubt that it would be very well organised and worth the investment.

The location is central, super convenient, and quiet. Santa Croce is a minute's walk, the Duomo about 10 mins. There is an excellent Conad supermarket 5 mins away with a huge range of good quality stuff. We shopped there and experimented making interesting things.

If you want full-on aircon in your accommodation then this might not be for you. There is a good aircon unit in the dining area and fans elsewhere which kept the temperature fine for us.

Agreed with previous reviewer that you don't want to drive into Florence, especially to a central location like this one. Everything you would want to see in the city is an easy walk, train travel is not expensive (we did Pisa and thought about Venice (2 hrs away) but were having too much fun wandering around Florence to make it worthwhile) and you can hire a car/bike/take a tour if you want to get off the beaten track.

Highlights include the Medici Chapels and the Stibbert museum (quite unlike anything you will see anywhere else).

Great week, ideal location for everything in the city. We had an excellent time. Very good value for money, would come again to the city and to this apartment.

I cannot say enough. Fabrizio met us at the train station and gave us a quick tour. The apartment was everything I expected. I want to say that I had scheduled this apt. last Oct 2013 and had to cancel at the last minute and Fabrizio was wonderful to work with. Fabrizio also scheduled and did the Siena tour with wine tasting for us and it was a wonderful day and great food. I will book this apt again when I return.

Wonderful apartment and host

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was ideally located and sized for our family of 4. We especially enjoyed the layout and decorations in Fabrizio's apartment. It was a unique modernization of a historic space, providing a cool counterpoint to the historic preservation we experienced at every museum. We also engaged Fabrizio as our tour guide through Tuscany for a day. He selected a perfect Tenuta for lunch and wine tasting at an outdoor table in an olive grove. Wow. We also felt the nightly rate was a fantastic value, considering the central location, amenities like a dishwasher and washing machine, and Fabrizio's flexibility as our host. I highly recommend both the apartment and Fabrizio as a tour guide.

Be aware that the A/C vent is located in the dining area and because of the unique layout A/C circulation was not super-efficient, though there are fans in the bedrooms to help. We were always comfortable, but if you are a person or family who wants a powerful A/C feel in the heat of summer, you might be disappointed, especially in the loft bedroom.

One traveler tip - if you were considering driving into Florence, DON'T. We made this mistake, thinking the flexibility of coming and going from the city to and from our other destinations would be worthwhile. Because the apartment is so close to city center, there are many restrictions about where you are permitted to drive, and obviously many one-way streets as well. No GPS can possibly navigate you through it accurately. There is also no street parking available for non-residents (this is the only point that Fabrizio didn't make clear in our earlier communications) so you must park in a garage for around 25 euro per day. Take our advice and DON'T DRIVE.

Enjoy Florence! And thanks again Fabrizio for a lovely stay.

At home in Florence

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this great apartment for a week late April into early May. Perfect location, large apartment with eclectic decor. Fabrizio was wonderful, kind & so helpful. He gave us great suggestions & took us on a full day tour that included Sienna & a winery. You can settle into the neighborhood, feel safe, walk everywhere & feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again if we return. Thanks for everything Fabrizio.

My mother-in-law and son stayed in the apartment for 3 nights in April and had a wonderful time. I had been working with Fabrizio to set up their stay and to make sure that he could pick them up (for a fee) at the airport on their arrival. He was very thoughtful to acknowledge me of their arrival and to see to their needs. She is 83 and very healthy but nervous about travel. He then took them on a car tour of Florence to get them familiar with the layout of the city/sites. The accommodations were great; she reports that the her bed was very comfortable - I didn't ask my son since he can sleep anywhere. They both noted that the apartment was in a great location and so close to many of the things they wanted to do.

Thank you very much Fabrizio for taking such good care of her/them. It was perfect.

The property is perfectly located for visitors who want to discover the essence of Florence. Situated between Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce, it is in the heart of Florence's historical centre. This area is full of local colour and is lively, even though the apartment is on a small quiet road. There are plenty of boutiques, bars and small, intimate restaurants in the area, as well as some of Florence's most noteworthy attractions
