Overview

Glen Ellen House Rental Photos and Description

Private 4 Bedroom, 2 Bath- Close to it All!

Renovations on this large solar-powered home were completed in August 2012.

The home is contemporary in style and is furnished with a modern and upbeat design. The shining star of the home is its beautiful and light-filled kitchen. The kitchen is fully-equipped with quartz countertops, large island, and brand-new stainless steel appliances, including dishwasher and double oven. The expansive kitchen includes three separate dining areas: bar seating, a dining nook for your morning paper, and a custom-made, beam & pipe dining table for 8. The room flows out to a private and lush backyard, complete with amosaic-tiled built-in pool and super-hot jacuzzi tub (fits 4). The flagstone patio is a perfect place to soak in the California sun -- Adirondack chairs and Weber Grill included -- and a covered patio area has a table set for 6.

The kitchen also opens up to a large and unique living room. The room has high ceilings, new wood floors, gas fireplace, big-screen tv, reading area, and a unique alcove table perfect for games or your laptop (Wifi throughout). The first floor also includes a laundry room, two guest rooms with queen beds, and a large, renovated guest bathroom.

Upstairs you will find the huge master bedroom with cathedral wood-beamed ceilings and private entrance. The beautiful master bath has 12-ft ceilings and a large hand-tiled shower. Off of the master, there also is a separate lofted bedroom with door and window.

As parents ourselves, we have also taken into consideration people traveling with small children, and have books, toys, booster seat, bed rail, sound machine, pack n play, and other items to make a family's stay as pleasant as possible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was absolutely perfect for us and we loved it!!! Sunday, we ventured over to Napa and went to Pine Ridge and Pejus wineries and had lunch at a Taqueria. We went on the winery tour that Monday and your recommendation of the limo company really made the day even more of a fun and special experience. Jennifer was our driver and she took us to an extra winery based upon what she heard that we liked. We went to Glen Ellen Star for dinner...another great recommendation. They took wonderful care of us and food was really yummy!

On Tuesday, we headed back to Napa and went to Silver Oak, another winery which I am failing to remember right now and Mumm. The whole trip really made for such a wonderful birthday! I will definitely write a review for your home and will definitely return.

On a side note, I just need to say that you are an amazing host and I truly appreciated your working with us while I coordinated with everyone's schedules. It is very rare to find that these days and I will recommend your home to family and friends. I have already given rave reviews to those I know. I received your thank you card and that was a really thoughtful and personal touch. Thanks again for everything!

Family Wedding

  • 5 of 5
We rented this house for 3 families to share - total of 7 people and it was perfect! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were functional for all of us to get ready. The kitchen was the perfect gathering place and had all the appliances and tools we needed. The backyard was a nice place to hang out too - lap pool and a small Jacuzzi. Laundry available. The house was convenient to grocery shopping and some of the cute restaurants and bars in Glen Ellen. But don't walk at night! Also convenient for several wine tasting vineyards. Very clean and comfortable. The pictures depicted this house well. The owner was very prompt in contacting me and answering all my questions. I highly recommend renting this property if you are looking for a larger house.

Rustic-yet-Modern Charm

  • 5 of 5
Myself and some girlfriends stayed at this lovely adobe last summer for my 30th birthday/bachelorette shindig. First of all, I cannot speak highly enough of Glen Ellen. It is one of THEEEE most charming little towns in Sonoma County - I've already gone back to visit a couple times since last summer because I loved it so much. It has a more country, low-key feel than a lot of places in Napa. The house itself is an older structure (even smells a little like an old house...which I kind of liked :) but has been renovated and is quite comfy. The furnishings and decor are simple yet tastefully done. My only complaint is that the stairwell is a little loud when walked on. Again, it sort of adds to the charm if you let it ... but if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs. The house is within walking distance to several great wineries, restaurants, and the local supermarket. Tessa, the manager, was very kind and easy to work with.
My most-favorite things we did while in Glen Ellen/Sonoma:
1. Go wine tasting (obviously!) - I highly recommend scheduling a tasting at Lasseter Winery and Hanzell. Benziger is fantastic too with the immense learning opportunities about biodynamic winemaking :) It's fun to just explore and let the day unfold as it may...
2. Eat dinner at the Glen Ellen Star. Order the corn. You will not be sorry. :)
3. Go for a hike at the Jack London State Park - and go for the free guided tour - very educational and interesting!
4. Eat breakfast at least once at El Molino Central. They only have 1 thing on the menu for breakfast and it's amazing. Order it with blue bottle coffee.
Thanks Tessa for letting us stay at this charming tucked away home in the heart of Sonoma :)

Girls Weekend in Sonoma

  • 5 of 5
This home was a wonderful choice for our Girl's Weekend in Sonoma. The house fit 6 of us comfortably and could have accommodated 2 more if you don't mind sharing rooms/beds. It was the perfect size to give us all our personal space, but also space to spend time together. The house is within easy walking distance to restaurants and wineries, which we took full advantage of the location in the afternoons/evenings. There was a wonderful backyard and I wish our group would have stayed longer in order to enjoy the house to its fullest potential. Tessa was wonderful, responsive, and extremely informative of the area. I've already recommended this house to friends for a trip and would definitely book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay - it contributed to a memorable experience.

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I stayed here a 40th birthday get together. There were 7 of us, and we fit very comfortably. The house is roomy, beautiful, and the kitchen is especially nice. Another great thing about this rental: The owner (Tessa) is super nice and VERY responsive. I contacted her many times before my stay and a few times during my stay. She responded immediately every time. She even was nice enough to mail me something that I accidentally left at the house. I definitely recommend this place…great for adults and for kids! Two things to keep in mind: 1) The beds are uncomfortable. If you're not picky, then you'll be just fine. If you're picky, just plan on not getting the best sleep. Half of my group was fine with the beds; the other half was not. 2) This comment pertains to Sonoma in general. There is a STRICT quiet-time policy after 10pm, and this house is no exception. My friends and I were in the spa chatting (not super quiet but definitely not loud), and a neighbor complained about us (before 10pm). We all found that very annoying, as we planned on going in at 10 as it is. The good thing, however, is that Tessa dealt with the situation very well. This is just something to keep in mind when staying in Sonoma in general. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Beautiful Modern Sonoma Retreat

  • 5 of 5
An ideal home for three families with children 8-10 y.o. traveling together. The location was perfect for exploring Glen Ellen, Sonoma, and nearby vineyards (recommend Benziger, St. Francis, Ferrer). The house was spacious, quiet, and beautifully decorated with modern panache. We especially enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, the sparkling clean pool, and the jacuzzi (perfect for star gazing at night). Had a great dinner at Glen Ellen Star too, within walking distance.Tessa had great recs for local and kid-friendly activities (Sonoma farmer's market on Tuesday night). Fantastic value for a large group and highly recommended.

Amazing property in Glen Ellen! Beautiful, functional, updated, convenient, charming

  • 5 of 5
We spent the last 4 days of our honeymoon at this amazing house. Everything was perfect - from the condition of the house and amenities, to the great communication both before and after our stay by the owners, to the fantastic location and short drives/walks to food, wine, and more.

We especially enjoyed the pool and spa, the gourmet kitchen, and the comfortable accommodations. We plan to visit again and bring our daughter - the sleeping nook off of the master bedroom is perfect for kids. The steps the owners have taken to make the house kid-friendly are wonderful.

Thanks again for sharing your home with us!

The home is located in the small village of Glen Ellen, less than 10 miles north of Sonoma Square, among some of the most famous wineries of the valley. The home is in a country setting, but is walkable to town. The heart of the village is just down the road, so no need to drive to the wonderful & quaint restaurants and bars: The Fig Cafe, Glen Ellen Star, Olive & Vine, Yeti, and the new Grist Mill Restaurant & Beer Bar. There are dozens of wineries within a 10 mile radius, and a few that you can even reach on foot! In addition to the wine and culinary adventures that await, there are many other activities available year-around: shopping, hiking, mountain-biking, kayaking, concerts, and spa facilities.
