Enjoy all the mountains have to offer in our custom built solar home complete with all amenities. First floor master bedroom suite with private bath and deck. Second floor bedroom suite with full bath and sitting area. Complete kitchen, laundry and living room with mountain views. Covered porch for enjoying coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Elk, deer are abundant. Our system is solar powered with automatic backup generator. Propane hot water & in floor heat.
About Joanna Chechile

My husband and I moved to Colorado from Massachusetts in 2006. After spending years on the coast we wanted some mountain living, designed and built our home on Hasting Mesa which we moved into in 2009. It is a custom solar home with all the creature comforts.

For those who love the outdoor mountain life we offer the perfect vacation getaway in the San Juan Mountains. Hiking & mountain biking are available outside our door or a mere drive away. We are just a 35 minute drive over Last Dollar Road to Telluride and 22 minutes down mountain to Ridgway. Access the San Juans from our home, soak in the Orvis Hot Springs after a long day hiking or biking or just sit and gaze at the mountains. Get away from your city hectic life for some relaxing quiet mountain air, complete with beautiful scenery and wildlife.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the San Juan Mountains and decided to settle in the middle of it all. We offer awesome access for biking & hiking, beautiful views of North Pole Peak and quiet morning in the porch swing with your coffee & favorite book.

Winter rentals are available but the house is located in an area that has no winter drive in access. As the snows pile up the road is private and not plowed so our access is snow mobile/ski/snowshoe. It is aprox. 1 mile from the parking area to our home. An easy distance for those who are looking for a little more adventure. Please inquire for more details.

Our home is located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. Approx. 22 minutes to Ridgway and 35 minutes to Telluride off Last Dollar Road on Hasting Mesa. We are situated behind Last Dollar Ranch at the base of the Mountains and North Pole Peak, with access to National Forest trails for hiking. For the avid mountain biker, hiker, climber or just all around outdoors person who loves the mountains our home is a perfect get away & vacation spot. Just lay around and enjoy the view, get on your mountain bike or stretch your legs for a vigorous hike. We are close to trails by foot or short car ride, Blue lakes, Sneffels Mt., Owl Creek Pass, Ophir Pass, Imogene Pass and Lizard Head Peak are but a few areas easily accessed from our area. Go to Telluride for weekend festivals, music in Mountain village or just dinner. Soak in the hot spring at Orvis in Ridgway.
