3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms with lake and mountain views

Located on 57 acres, the Sassy Goose Lodge is central to some of the best hiking and biking in all of Western North Carolina – DuPont State Forest, Caesar’s Head State Park and Pisgah Forest.

The beauty and privacy of the property is enhanced by a lovely six-acre lake that is great for swimming and fishing. Three canoes, a pontoon boat, and a separate, well stocked, catch and release trout pond are located on the property and available to guests at no additional charge.

The Lodge sits above the lake facing west for some spectacular views of the mountains and sunsets.

There are three bedrooms, each with separate bath. One room has a king bed, another has a queen and the third has a queen and twin bed. Linens and towels are provided. A roll-away bed is available for an additional guest. Larger groups, such as family reunions of up to 18 people, can be accommodated through additional facilities on the property.

Downstairs is a spacious living room with wood burning fireplace, dining room overlooking a deck with a view of the lake, and large kitchen with dishwasher. There is also a half-bath on the main floor. The Lodge has central air and heat.

On the property beyond the Lodge is a covered pavilion with a ping-pong table, shuffle board, horseshoes and bocce court. In addition to the many excellent golf courses nearby is our own Par 2 golf course. All of these facilities are available to our guests at no additional charge.

About Linda Vandeweghe

The Sassy Goose Lodge was originally developed as a bed and breakfast by Bob and Bette Vandeweghe 26 years ago. A two-bedroom cottage on the property near the Lodge was originally their home. Today the property is managed by Bob and daughter Linda who reside in a separate house across the lake and enjoy sharing their beautiful corner of Western North Carolina with guests from all over the world.

What makes this house unique

The property is private, quiet and peaceful, a perfect haven for family reunions. There is so much to do on the property one never has to leave – nevertheless you won’t want to miss the wonderful outdoor, shopping, dining and cultural things to see and do in nearby Brevard, Asheville and Greenville.
