Overview

Boyne City Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 bed/2ba sleeps 12 Enormous deck, gardens, Kayaks, FREE putt putt,Golf&batting

Mountain Views Resort

Located conveniently right on main road (M 75) between Boyne Mountain (3 miles)and less than 2 miles to center of Boyne City & harbor of Lake Charlevoix. Walk to Boyne Adventure Golf, BC Lanes with live music, BC Pizza, Quick Care Medical, Challenge Mountain Thrift store, Up North Party Store, Chase Bank

Less than 3 miles to Young's and Whiting State Parks each with beautiful beaches.

45 minutes to Mackinaw, 15 minutes to Petoskey, 20 to Charlevoix, hour to Traverse City , 30 to Gaylord

Boyne City has at least 4 city parks, very nice farmers market, and in the summer closes main street each Friday Night for 'STROLL THE STREETS' and has a party with several live musicians and groups and other performers from 6-9 or 10. Great way to catch the sunset into Lake Charlevoix. Another great way is Wednesday's concert in the park gazebo park.

The whole downtown area of Boyne city is one park after another along the shores of Lake Charlevoix and the Boyne River feeding into it snakes it way through the back side of main street into the lake.

Free unlimited access to Boyne Rapids Adventure Golf right across the road. There is an 18 hole chip and putt wrapped around the coolest putt putt with waterfalls and caves it with two speeds of batting as well. Check out the facebook page. Very nice value for families, especially moms, safe to send for a little quiet time of your own lol!

I have 13 kayaks, 3 made just for children, and there are several rivers to choose from in the area. The put in for the Boyne River is less than a mile away and I pick you up where it feeds into Lake Charlevoix in downtown Boyne City. There are 7 river tubes with back supports for just floating and playing at the beach, life jackets, air mattress and just about everything else for fun in the sun! Board games, beach toys like croquet, and Volleyball, ping-pong, golf clubs, snorkel gear, lawn furniture and beach towels to go along.

I will plan, port, and guide you on any of our awesome waterways here for your own private group float. There are several to chose from and kayaking is one of my passions. I have a couple of car top carriers if you just want to go down to the lake on your own. I also have a small assortment of fishing poles...don't ask me though as I know nothing about fishing...there is a dam walking distant where I often see many gathered.

You can also walk to three small fishing decks across the highway in Boyne Aire Biz Park. Hardly anyone knows about them. Nice hike down a trail to the river bank.

Property is nestled at the base of one of the tallest mountains in the area called 'Old Maids Nipple'. The view up the mountains through the exotic swaying fern grove is breathtaking from back of the house. Gardens everywhere and solar lights abound at night to create a fairy tale space day and night.

During ski season I have about 30 pairs of boots and 20 skis for just about every size except the really little ones...Gear also in case you need a face warmer , pair of bibs, helmet or googles.

I am a massage therapist, energy healer, and now studying to teach yoga. Special offers and access to my therapy room and library located on the property to all guests. You can schedule massage, Trinfinity 8 sessions, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy, Inversion Table, Chi generator, detox, specialty facials, among other treatment modalities. One day I hope to open a free pathway through the chakras to enlightenment traversing my mountain to the top.

Please call me about availability, I don't mind the call or inquiries and I may be able to help you find the perfect spot even if it isn't mine! I know the area well and am happy to help! many of my friends have different size and locations, i may be able to help!

Cottage has Fire pit and grill area complete with new 10x12 screen house and lawn furniture. Very private and cozy, sunset over the side of mountain beautiful for fire in the pit and marshmallows (firewood and smores provided .

Main house is surrounded by an enormous fenced with bushes and flowers spilling over and around everywhere. The house is wrapped in a deck that I put awning up for shade and surround in bamboo fence for more shade and privacy. Some like it best of all features here.

About Sally Jo Sanders

Spent my first year out of college as a Chemical engineer from MTU in Chicago working for Amoco chemicals. Corporate life in the big city didn't seem to fit so off to med school with the US Army to Med in a research position. I was retired after being injured and spending three years in Walter Reed Hospital. Tired of medical world I got an associates in interior design and went on the art show curcuit literally traveling and selling my arty creation around the world.

When my son was ready to start school, I decided to settle down and got into the periphery of medicine, hired as a drug rep for Easai selling Aricept for Alzheimer's and Aciphex for GERD. Though the money was good I knew I had a calling for more meaningful approach to healing.

Back to massage school,(I know, seems like I am always in school!) The staff nicknamed me Sparky for my abundance of both healing energy and energetic personality. They recommended me to move into energy medicine and I started the 3 levels of Reiki upon graduation. I am now a third level master teacher meaning I can teach and attune others to this form of healing.

Ultimately I want to turn both houses and the therapy room to an all inclusive place where people can come for as long as they need for healing. I have 15 certifications in bodywork and have formed many working relationships with other gifted healers in the area for things outside of my specialties. That's besides the hiking trail traversing the mountain each time passing through a representative chakra area to promote awareness, balance, and healing.

Each time I rent one of my homes the $$ go to improving property and preparing to make it a place of respite and healing on all levels for those suffering.

Sally Jo Sanders purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Sally Jo Sanders chose Boyne City

I LOVE BOYNE. The mountain, the spa, the city, the lakes, rivers, people. It is a 4 season wonderland here. I purchased this sprawling resort with two houses, the therapy room, and 3 out buildings in April of 2010 with the home buyers tax credit. I had not realized how much work would be needed to get both houses and therapy room up to snuff for guests. :) Finally 6 summers later, EVERYTHING has been resurfaced and 1000's of perennials, shrubs and trees landscaped to give it a park like setting. This summer main house got a bamboo lined screening and awning for it's massive overly sunny deck. Is there ever an end to the projects? Currently I'm working on a basement apartment so I can also rent out the main house. I excavated a basement walkout and LOVE it.

I have been toiling in the cottage last 6 months removing all interior walls and resurfacing everything! New radiant marble floors, greenhouse bay window, new cherry kitchen, much more open space,. As most remodels it has gone way beyond expectations in every way! Budget, time, satisfaction :)

What makes this cottage unique

The privacy: Technically located in the business park there are no residents for miles around. The business park is across the road and mostly within their large cul-de-sac and very quiet. You feel you have the whole mountain to yourself and can make as much noise as you wish, only the deer and other forest critters will hear you! The back yard is literally nestled into the base of the steep side of the mountain, sunsets over the excavated area next door are spectacular. There is a hiking path to the top.

Convenience: Right on the main road M75, Halfway between Boyne mountain skiing, spa, zipline and all the fun there ;and beautiful Boyne City cutest harbor town on beautiful Lake Charlevoix. We have won Main Street Michigan 2 years running for all the great community events and offerings. Also less than a quarter mile down the road is a BP Gas station liquor convenience store that is well stocked with many common items. BC Pizza right across the road from them.

Directcare walk in medical service is directly across the road.

Boyne Rapids Adventure Golf is also right across the road. We have a membership that allows all guest unlimited putt putt, batting cages, and 18 hole 3 par FREE1

Sally is great and her place is really Charming

  • 5 of 5

I met Sally skiing at Boyne Mt after I got shut out of a beautiful day of skiing at Crystal Mt. (still don't know why they were not open?) So I hauled up to Boyne with no place to stay and was talking to Sally about my predicament when she offered her wonderful place up to me. So much better than a hotel was my first impression, and Sally was wonderful getting me settled in and hooked me up with a sweet deal on some demo skis by Shaggys (I ended up buying a pair I loved these skis so much). Her place was warm and inviting and had everything I needed pots, pans, soap, great TV and a really comfortable bed. The fridge is state of the art and clean as was the good size Bathroom clean and ready to go. Sally and I skied together for the next three days and had just a wonderful time. If I'm going to ski Boyne this will be the only place I ever stay!

Sally's Property is great.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our four boys. We ALL had a good time. The boys loved the free putt putt golf and Sally had a pass to use the pool at the ski resort as well that she let the boys use. It is close to so many different great vacation attractions as well. We stayed over my birthday and Sally made me breakfast. This a great place to stay, and I cant say enough nice things about Sally. We are visiting again this year for another vacation. I cant wait.

Perfect place to stay for our family!

  • 5 of 5

Sally was really easy to work with. She responded to my many emails very quickly! My husband, two children, and myself spent 5 days here. It was the perfect size for us. The dining room was really big and had plenty of room for us to eat. The living room had a leather couch and two chairs so that was perfect for us. There was a flat screen tv and every channel we could ask for. There was a DVR which was great. The kitchen had everything we needed. I had never cooked in a convention oven before but learned quickly.

She brought us fresh towels and made sure that we always had everything we needed. The kids loved the free putt putt golf course across the street. It is the prettiest course I have ever seen. We need to go back up again this year and will be staying here again.

Boyne city has won Main Street Michigan two years running for their outstanding community events and overall cute main street with so many activities going on you need a copy of local paper'The Graphic' on hand all the time. Lake Charlevoix of which we are the primary port town was voted by USA today as the most beautiful lake in the US or the world (will checklol) All 4 seasons there is something to do here. Summer beach fun, rivers galore, fast and pristine with rugged beauty. Fall color tours and hunting, winter skiing and winter sports, spring brings the morel mushroom hunters... There are concerts in the park gazebo free on Wednesdays with incredible sunset views of the lake. Every Friday night they close down main street and musician populate 6 blocks and the whole town comes out for 'Stroll the Streets'
