This a newly remodeled 2 bedroom house that is located close to rock bridge state park with a cave (devils ice box). The University of Missouri is less than 10 minutes away. Columbia has a history museum, great bike trails, several wineries in the area, and 2 large lakes within about an hour. Columbia has several festivals and major events throughout the year. See Columbia chamber of commerce website.
I am married and have 3 kids that all graduated from MU. I am a building contractor and own rental property. My wife has worked for the university for 27 years. I am also an active member of a Kiwanis Club and we are both active in our church. Most of my family are big tiger football fans.
David And Joyce Mast purchased this house in 2011
We have done some traveling and have used VRBO to find accommodations and have been interested in finding a property that would work for this. I bought this house and completely rebuilt it because was in terrible shape. It is very easy to get to any place in the area because of it's location.
The deck overlooks the woods behind the property. Across the road is a cow pasture.
It located in a very quiet area, but close to Hwy 63. Both bedrooms have a queen bed.
The kitchen has stainless appliances and granite counter top.
There is a great cedar deck on the back.
It has a washer and dryer.
Flat screen tv with satelite.
Close to Rock Bridge State Park, hiking & Devils Icebox
This is the fourth time I've stayed here in 2 years. It's a nice place with none of the hotel noise that keeps you from sleeping at night. We enjoyed grilling on the back porch with the scenery of the woods just behind the back deck.
All the comforts of home with no noise of a hotel stay. Everything there needed to cook a meal and clean laundry with the fell of being in the country but only 10-15 minutes from everything needed in town. This is the 3rd week long stay here in 2 years and plan to return soon. The rear porch with gas BBQ pit, table and chairs overlooking the woods is a nice setting.
My mom and I recently came to Como to attend one of my daughters lacrosse games. She was injured during a game so we extended our stay. David was very accommodating and genuinely concerned for her well being. This home made a wonderful recovery place for my daughter. Everything we needed was right there and only 10-15 minutes from Mizzou. My mom loved taking walks with our Bichon (dog) out in the country. Enjoyed being away from the city but close enough to everything. Both of my daughters attend Mizzou so have found a home away from home when we come to visit. Thank you David for everything!
This is a great house for a small group visiting the Columbia area. Downtown and the campus are within 10 minutes drive. The home is clean, comfortable and has a nice deck on the back.
What a quaint cottage!! We needed a pet friendly place to celebrate Thanksgiving with our son who attends Mizzou . The accommodations were more than I expected...everything was brand new. We enjoyed the best of both worlds; it was far enough out of Columbia that is was quiet, but was within 10 min of any place we needed to go. It was an enjoyable weekend with family and friends. Thank you!
This is a great little house - very comfortable and beautifully renovated. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the details of the house. Beautiful crown moldings throughout, granite countertops, and beautifully furnished. There is also a nice big deck off the dining/kitchen area. Loved the double reclining sofa! The house is close to downtown and easy to get to. Definitely would stay here again for future trips to Ol' Mizzou!
Mo Tiger sports are a big attraction. We also have Columbia College and Stephens College.
Show me state games bring lots of people in the summer. The roots and blues festival in Sept. Isle of Capri casino is about 30 minutes away in Boonville. There is a FREE airshow memorial day weekend. There are several wineries in the area. The Katy Trail attracts bikers and hikers.
Rock Bridge State Park is close by and is a great place to hike and to explore the cave (Devil's Ice Box).
Columbia has great shopping, museums, historical areas, several antique shops and flea markets.
