Beautiful wine Quinta in the heart of the Torto valley. Located in an isolated position with beautiful views over the surrounding vineyards. As a working vineyard- birthplace of Quinta de Macedos & Pinga do Torto wines- it offers tours and tastings. A large house with dinning room , drawing room, large modern kitchen and large family room. All bedrooms are en-suite with either bath or shower. Air con in all bedrooms and dinning room. Underfloor heating throughout the house. Remote and secluded yet only 15 mins from Pinhao and 35 from Regua. Offers a great base from which to explore the greater Douro World Heritage Site with its myriad sights and sounds, canoe the Douro river canyon, hike amongst the Heather and Chestnut forests on the the rugged granite uplands, explore ancient castles, sample the hugely varied food and wines of the oldest DOC region of them all whilst most importantly, allowing you sit back , relax and recharge your batteries!

The Douro region was often referred to as 'Titan's playground'. Its remote, wild and rugged character defied even the most intrepid traveler. Today however much has changed. With modern roads, river cruisers and regular rail, access is easy. The wine making hinterland is well served with places to stay increasingly offering a higher grade of travel experience. The opening of luxury spars and boutique hotels has also helped propel the region into the forefront of exclusive travel destinations. Its singular beauty however has remained enhanced. It still offers an unrivaled experience of open landscape and gastronomic delight. Pinhao has a picturesque river frontage with restaurants and bars and a 5 star hotel. Regua and Vila Real are bustling towns of great character and the Upper Douro is studded with old historic sights, castles and restaurants serving authentic local cuisine. River cruises and railways complement the scene.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental includes weekly clean, welcome pack and vineyard tour.bespoke wine visits are available on request. A fully refundable security deposit of 500 pounds must be paid with the final balance prior to arrival. Off season rates are also available on request. During the vintage only 4 suites are available as our chief winemaker is on site full time. All guests are welcome to participate in vintage activities. Air conditioning is available at 50 pounds per week.
