Great place!! I'd highly recommend it especially for large groups.
Our group enjoyed our stay at Shepherd"s Knoll. The facility and it's location met all our needs as a base to tour this area of the Hudson Valley on bicyles
Upon entering the driveway, I knew I had made the right choice. The property is lovely...prettier than the pictures. We felt at home walking through the front door. The house was clean, smelled fresh and was roomy. We couldn't wait to cut the cake that Lynda left for us on the table. We had everything at our fingertips. Nothing was missing. There were pots, pans, lots of dishes, spices, etc. There was a binder with anything you needed to know about the property or area. I would recommend this home and we hope to be back.
We were in Red Hook for a family wedding. If you're interested in shopping in a wonderful farm store, stop by Sawkill Farm store for fresh eggs and fabulous meat. We also had dinner at the Market Street Restaurant in Rhinebeck. The service and food was great.
Have fun...we did!
We had a large family gathering for the holidays and this property suited our needs adequately. The location was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The house itself was not the cleanest. Because we came in the winter and the house had not been rented for a while, perhaps, this would explain the condition. However, we had a wonderful time and found the location to be very convenient. The large dining room table and supply of a variety of dishes, serving plates, etc. did help us enjoy our big meals together. The owners were on sight the whole time we stayed there and were available for assistance if we needed it. The bird feeders were always full and we loved watching all the varieties of birds that visited the feeders. We also saw some deer in the yard. There was plenty of wood for the stoves and we were all kept cozy and warm. Our family truly enjoyed our stay.
When we decided that we would spend Thanksgiving weekend in Eastern New York, we were hoping to find somewhere that the kids could unwind from college, and that we could still have a family weekend. Your place filled the bill, and then some! It wasn't 30 seconds before the kids began investigating the home for 'their' space, and in minutes they were sprawled throughout the house, playing games, watching the various TV's, and just kicking back. Where else could 7 kids stretch out and relax? We had a great time, and are already looking for when we will return! Thanks for everything!
We had an amazing time at Shepherd's Knoll. The 4 of us girlsfriends wanted a relaxing getaway with a hot tub as a base to explore the Hudson Valley. What a lovely house and such welcoming hosts! There were fresh cookies on arrival and another delivery the next day. We enjoyed the hot tub and looking out at the moon both nights, cooked lovely meals in the super equipped kitchen, toasted in the basement sauna, drank hot tea by the fire and slept like babies in the comfy beds. Only a short drive to the Roosevelt House, Vanderbilt Mansion and Hudson Bridge made it ultra convenient too. A short break we wish could have been longer and a holiday we will remember for years to come. Can't recommend highly enough!
