Great location and helpful owners

We had never rented through VRBO before, but found it to be the most economical option for our recent first trip to Turks and Caicos. Candi and George were in constant contact with us prior to us even putting down a deposit.
When we checked in, everything was clean and in order. We were treated just like any other guests, even though we were not going through the Alexandra. The staff at this resort is very friendly and everyone just seems to be happy.
We had a couple of minor maintenance issues during our stay but upon contacting Candi and George, they were handled immediately. The condo has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Turks & Caicos. The full kitchen was great to prepare light meals. The two bathrooms were also convenient. The deck on this condo is great. We ate breakfast out there every morning and there is plenty of space. Everything in the condo is in very good condition and has nice fixtures and decorative touches.
The Alexandra is in a great location within walking distance to snorkeling, many restaurants and we always felt safe, day or night, walking around. The restaurant Mango Reef is one of the best and we ate there several times. The beach in front of the resort is beautiful and there are always plenty of chairs, umbrellas and towels available and staff will set them up for you. The resort also offers bikes, tennis equipment, sea kayaks and pedal boats and snorkeling gear for your use. We rented a car for two days to explore outlying areas including Chalk Sound, Taylor Bay, Blue Hills.
There are a few reasons that we rated this good rather than excellent, none of which had to do with the condo itself. The area is very expensive, from restaurants to grocery stores to the tours offered. We have been primarily to all inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. We found Provo to be really sleepy. Other than enjoying the beautiful beaches and various restaurants, there's not much to do. The resort didn't offer any activities like we are used to and we didn't enjoy the pool area at all. The water was cold, no music or drink service and just not very appealing. The Regent Palms next door had a really nice pool area, but the cost is not even in the same ballpark as the Alexandra.
We will probably not return to Turks & Caicos as we like to try different locations and we found it expensive. But if you enjoy quiet with beautiful beaches, this condo is great and you can trust the owners and the quality of their unit.
