Circular stairs take you down to a sitting room with a small multi-game table. Queen bedroom, full bath, and laundry room with full size washer and dryer are on the lower level. A trundle bed that will sleep 2 persons is located in the laundry room.
Satellite television and a high speed internet connection with wireless router is included so you can surf the web or check email from anywhere in the home or on the deck with your wireless compatible laptop. Located on the Eastern side of the mountains we are located at just the right elevation to typically be about 10 degrees cooler than the lowlands. We will occasionally get a moderate snowfall but often see much more snow on the tops of the mountains.
An easy ride of 2.2 miles takes you to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a drive to scenic vistas and trails to waterfalls. Nearby sites along the parkway include Northwest Trading Post, E. B. Jeffress Park, Dough-ton Park and Stone Mountain State Park.
Don't miss a visit to West Jefferson which features all the quaint country charm of a mountain village with all the conveniences of a larger city. While in town be sure to visit North Carolina's only cheese factory. You can watch cheese products being made and then buy some to take home. Also, be sure to visit the shops and art galleries throughout West Jefferson for a true mountain experience. Mount Jefferson State Park gives some beautiful views of the town and surrounding mountains.
