The Vineyard Aerie is a beautifully decorated home perched on the top of a knoll with spectacular views of the surrounding hills and a hidden lake below the house. Nestled in the heart of the Alexander Valley, this five-acre country retreat is a perfect place to relax, cook with friends with the bounty from our garden, and return to after a day of wine tasting, shopping in Healdsburg, swimming in the Russian River, or water skiing on Lake Sonoma. The house is located within a peaceful 1,000+ acre reserve of private homes. Bald eagles, osprey, foxes and other wildlife abound. Geyserville, Sonoma Country's newest 'it' town, is just minutes away and features first-class restaurants, antique shops and tasting rooms within a charming two block downtown.
The house, accessible by an easy 10-minute drive from U.S. 101, is just off Highway 128, a favorite cycling route. It is five minutes from Geyserville, 15 minutes from Healdsburg, close to Lake Sonoma and within minutes of numerous vineyards and wineries, including Francis Coppola, Silver Oak, Ridge, Trione, Ferrari Carano and many more.
This contemporary home features a master bedroom with a queen pillow top bed and bath on the main floor, two bedrooms with queen pillow top beds and a bath on the upstairs floor, and downstairs is a separate bedroom retreat with three twin beds and a pillow top queen bed in an alcove. This area has a full bathroom with tub/shower and separate toilet area. Another king size bed with pillow top sits in the downstairs library. The house sleeps 12 comfortably.
The centerpiece of the house is a Great Room with spectacular views of the surrounding hills, a century-old ranch now part of an agricultural reserve, a lake and ancient oak trees. The kitchen is fully-equipped with professional cookware and numerous serving dishes and guests are invited to use the fruits, herbs and vegetables from the property's garden. (Depending on the season, there are apples, lemons, figs, raspberries, blackberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, pepper, eggplant, beets, lettuce and an herb garden). The inviting wood dining room table expands to fit a crowd and two nearby doors open up onto the expansive deck with gas barbecue. In the winter, visitors can gather around the fireplace in the living room, with its vaulted ceilings and glass wall opening to the outdoor views. There is even a piano on which to play and an office in which to write.
The home comes with many amenities: Wi-Fi and Internet access, a stereo system, and a TV and extensive video and DVD collection. There is DirectTV with WiFi connection. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer. Luxurious sheets and towels are provide.
