SNOW FUN WITH THE KIDS!

  • 4 of 5
We had a great time in Stark, Great North Woods, New Hampshire. The place on Crystal Falls was exactly as described. It was very clean, and the the owner Diane was very friendly and easy to get a hold of. She even left a nice fruit arrangement for us. The sound of the Falls was soothing and all you can hear at night. It was very quiet and peaceful. We went in the winter, but you could still see some parts of the Falls that were not frozen over. There is a fire pit, where on one night we built a nice fire. There was a lot of snow, so the kids enjoyed sledding on a quiet country road. We went Snow Tubing about an hour away at Mt. Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. We also had a great lunch at the Moonbeam Cafe in Lancaster, NH. Over all a nice quiet winter family getaway. We even brought our dog along for the adventure. We would love to return in the summer time and enjoy the Falls and local swimming.

GREAT GETAWAY!

  • 4 of 5
Just needed a weekend away from work - My friend and I drove up from Conn. and wanted to do some sledding. The place was very cozy and clean, even provided fresh fruit and Vermont cheese! Perfect location, right near trails, love the brook and neighbors were friendly. Thanks Dianne!

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here after a couple of days of snowboarding at Sugarloaf in Maine. We needed a place to stay between Sugarloaf and home and found this place. It was cheap and mid-way to home. I would say that the price is WAY less than the value! I would have paid way more for it. It was such a cozy spot nestled right next to a private waterfall. There was an entry that goes to the porch where you can sit and watch the falls (when it's not too cold!). It's a huge place with all the modern amenities- internet, TV, Dish Network, washer and dryer, a big kitchen with a gas stove (definitely a perk), double basin sink in the bathroom, three beautiful bedrooms (one overlooking the falls), and a huge living room. I mean, wow! Everything was entirely clean as well. Not a speck of dirt to be found. The owners were so helpful and friendly.

It is in the middle of nowhere (20 min drive from Berlin, where you can buy groceries) so make sure you bring everything you need unless you want to go back out. I will definitely be back. My husband and I entirely enjoyed the peace and quiet, being from the greater Boston area. This place is a gem. If you're gonna go out for dinner or a drink, I would definitely go to Saalt Pub in Gorham (30 min drive). Fresh local food with an international flair and friendly service.

QUIET CABIN GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
I called at the very last minute and the owners gladly checked me in - with only about 7 hours notice to prepare the property. When I got there, they were just finishing up and it was a beauty of a spot for a getaway!

The falls are beautiful - I don't recommend trying to get close though. It's below a small gorge and not easily accessible... But it's gorgeous and a lovely sound to hear at night and when you wake up.

I picture this place being perfect for small parties with friends or romantic getaway. Personally, I used it as a way to focus on my creative side and get a lot of work done. I was happy with what I produced, so it's safe to call this place a successful hideaway.

Owner's Response: Thank you Kyle. You were our first guest of the year. I'm glad it was productive for you.

The falls are accessible on the other side of the bridge., . especially for swimming during summer months. Yes, this is a wonderful place for group gatherings and retreats. The living area is spacious and includes the kitchen so the chef is never left out. The deck off the living area (with barbecue grill) is breathtaking.

We will take short notices. . ready, willing, and able ! Please consider out property. .you won't regret it

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!!!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for a weekend in January, its such a gorgeous spot with Crystal Falls literally STEPS from the house! The master bedroom has such a gorgeous view of the falls and what an incredible sound to wake up to! The place is very clean, beautiful kitchen and bath. Very charming, barn feel. We were so comfortable here, and we were even greeted with a basket with some goodies and a bottle of wine!
There's plenty to do in the area, hiking, snow shoeing, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, and even downhill skiing if you wanted to travel an hour or so. It was such a peaceful visit. Will be booking our next stay!
