Palm Desert Bungalow Rental Photos and Description
2BR built by famous architect; stunning mountain views and lovely grounds
Charming Classic Condo At El Paseo, but updated!
The pictures do not reflect the renovations, which are currently underway.
Phenomenal location in the heart of Palm Desert! Walk one block to Starbucks, supermarket across the street – and stroll down the delightfully upscale El Paseo, where you will find stores, restaurants (including some of the best in the area), art galleries, an outdoor mall and more. Movie theaters are mere minutes away. Abundant golf nearby. And the architecturally-rich Palm Springs is a short 20 minutes east, not to mention the Cabazon outlets, every shopper’s paradise.
Sandpiper is an historically significant low density development, built in the late 50s and early 60s by the mid-century legend, William Krisel. The architecture and layout design are still being studied as masterpieces. Grounds are lovely, meticulously maintained, a veritable oasis in the desert.
Most of the truly charming mid-century elements have been carefully maintained and intact in this unit such as iconic cement walls, beamed ceilings, clerestory windows, plus a 20ft wall of glass overlooking the pool and grounds.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit is drenched in light, and contains 1 cal king and 1 queen. It was recently purchased and stocked with new furnishings, many of which are vintage mid-century pieces. You will find waiting for you premium linens, two flat panel TVs with premium TV (Netflix and Hulu subscriptions, etc), and all new kitchen utensils, along with gas BBQ. You’ll also find wi-fi and unlimited local and domestic telephone service.
New laundry machines, and all new stainless appliances (dishwasher, fridge, gas range and microwave) just installed. Plus, the unit is undergoing renovations in summer 2014 (cement floors throughout, new kitchen cabinets and quartz counters, bathroom updates and more). And for those who like to cook, a gas stove is not always easy to find in desert rentals!
This particular unit is set back from the pool, and has beautiful mountain views from the kitchen, master bedroom, and front patio. The rear patio is quiet and overlooks green space toward the pool at a discrete distance, and also has mountain views. The community is very quiet, very respectful.
Parking for one car is available right in front of the unit. Dogs are negotiable, depending upon the dog’s age, breed, and temperament with a pet deposit (owner has two gentle giants). So sorry, cats are not permitted.
As this is a second home, we are interested in renters who will treat it with respect. Rentals available on a monthly basis (weekly rentals only during key holidays), with house cleaning services available.
- non smoking only
- wheelchair accessible
- pets considered
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters
I am an entertainment industry executive in Los Angeles, and my mother is an interior designer. I use this unit often, and love spending time here with my family, friends, and dogs. This is a true second home, and I hope you'll enjoy it!
Liz purchased this bungalow in 2012
Why Liz chose Palm Desert
This community was the first development in the desert; I am a fan of William Krisel and mid-century design. I love the location because it is walkable to everything (such a treat during a vacation), and the grounds at Sandpiper are stunning. El Paseo is the reason why Palm Desert is recognized as the best town in the desert.
What makes this bungalow unique
You CANNOT beat the location. El Paseo has everything you need, and this particular unit is very well situated. Easy in and out of Sandpiper, close to town, thus walkable.... yet set back from the pool and an interior location (not bordering fences along major streets)
