The settlement is built in an area with luxuriant green and less than 300 permanent residents. Once in the village it is worth seeing the church of Aghios Georgios and the Wars’ Memorial, besides the town hall. If you like walking, you may visit the Holy Monastery of Aghioi Theodori, at a distance of 4 kilometers, to the north-east of the village. Apart from the scenic landscape, you will enjoy the warm hospitality and cordial welcoming of the monks living in the monastery. If you feel like continuing your wandering, you may walk for another 1,5 klm up to the small church of Aghios Georgios (St. George). There, apart from the church itself, you will see the stone tomb of a heroic young man, Nicolaos Stellas who was executed at the age of 19, by the German troops in 1944 during the German occupation of the island. Further away, always on foot, you may visit the Monastery of Aghios Ioannis Spiliotis (St. John).
