Tuzla Lake, an internationally recognized nature reserve, lies in the deep natural harbour of Mandalya, close to the traditional fishing village of Bogazici. This is a unique point where Tuzla Lake meets the sea in the gulf of Gulluk. In October the lake is awash with colour as Flamingos, Pelicans and other rare birds flock here to rest and enjoy the late summer weather. Tuzla also holds an important place in history, ruins of the ancient city of Bargilla, including a Roman Temple, can be found scattered over this area of breath taking beauty.

The location of Flamingo Country Club was no accident, with magnificent views over the lake across to the mountains in the distance, yet a short drive away from cosmopolitan Bodrum, with its castle, bustling market, offering fresh produce, herbs, spices, linens and clothes, and its bustling port from where a traditional gullet can be hired to explore the coastal features lining the Aegean coast, or take a day trip to the Greek island of Kos.

  • Security deposit: A £200 security deposit is required at the time of booking.

All linen and towels are provided, except pool/beach towels. Please bring your own. The towels in the apartment may not taken outside the apartment. There are numerous shared pools throughout the resort, the nearest just beneath the apartment. We would recommend a hire car for at least some of your stay, giving you the freedom to explore the area and all that the Bodrum Peninsula has to offer, at your leisure. There is a roof top solarium above the apartment, ideal for catching the rays. Being on a hillside, we have indicated that the elderly or infirm may have difficulty getting about the resort. Please call us to clarify if you have any concerns. Wireless Internet connection is available in the bar/restaurant area of the resort. Flamingo Country Club offers a gym, sauna, Turkish bath, indoor swimming pool, serviced laundry, shop, 6 hole pitch and putt, children's play area, tennis court, basket ball court, volley ball court, outdoor chess and pool table.

Fantastic apartment

A gorgeous, high spec and comfortable apartment in a great location. The views of both the sea and the lake are fantastic.

The rooms are spacious and light while the exterior of the apartment is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and large pools. We had the closest pool all to ourselves when we visited but there so many to choose from so the site never feels crowded.

Flamingo Country Club and the surrounding resorts, both easily accessed by regular shuttle buses, offer great amenities and restaurant options, all staffed by friendly, helpful people.

Perfect Getaway

We went on a 5 day visit in May 2012.

The apartment was perfect for our needs, very clean and spacious and had everything that we needed. It was lovely to wake up and take breakfast to the rooftop solarium and enjoy the stunning views whilst we planned our day ahead.

We went in low season so often had a swimming pool to ourselves during the day and it was a wonderful setting to completely relax and unwind.

There is a small shop / ocean view cafe just down the road which sold everything we needed and also delivered a new water cooler bottle straight to the apartment when it ran out. The people there couldn't have been more helpful or friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even arranged for taxis to take us down to My Beach, beautiful beachside gardens with a bar and restaurant and plenty of sun loungers and palapas to either soak up the sun or take some shade.

We took the Dolmus into Bodrum on one day and this was a really easy and inexpensive way to travel.

All in all it was a wonderful break and I really look forward to going back again soon!

I went on a 5 day visit to Flamingo with my friends, and it exceeded my expectations.

We stayed in Daphne (12), with stunning views of the lake and sea. I was very impressed with the apartment, it was very clean, well furnished with a large roof patio perfect for sunbathing and taking in the views.

We went in low season and took full advantage of having one of the beautiful pools mainly to ourselves, however with the number of pools on site I don't think overcrowding would be a problem even in high season.

We ate and drank in the local restaurant and cafe most evenings and found the food delicious and the people lovely, really friendly and helpful in telling us where we should visit and what to see.

The site was well maintained and had everything we needed within walking distance. We took the bus into Bodrum and found this an easy and cheap way of exploring.

I cannot wait to return, infact i wish I was there now!

Wonderful break

Had a wonderful 5 day trip to Flamingo and can't wait to book and go back!
Stayed in Daphne 12 which had beautiful views of both the lake and the sea, the apartment was spacious and well looked after and easily accommodated us as four ladies with all our luggage!
With so many pools on site we were spoilt for choice and never felt crowded.
The main pools on site are wonderful and right next to the bar/restaurant. We purposely went the week before half term so understood that it was still low season and not everything was fully open yet. The main restaurant was due to open 2 days after we left but the food at the cafe was more than sufficient for our needs and even exceeded our expectations when they went out of their way to go by car to obtain some fish for our vegetarian lady, they couldn't have looked after us better.
There is a shuttle bus which runs between the 3 sites so should you need a bit of variety you can move about easily.

Just off site is Ocean view cafe where there is a small shop to purchase some food items including fresh bread and vegetables. I would recommend that you also use them to buy a water cooler sized water bottle, they will deliver this to your apartment and is very cheap. Also nice to stop and have a drink overlooking the sea, wonderful views of the sunset. Shortly the Migros will be opened down the road which is a larger supermarket.

We didn't hire a car as we were only there for 5 days. From Oceanview they were more than happy to arrange taxi's for us. We also used the Dolmus (local bus service) for 6 Turkish Lira to visit Bodrum, the bus stop is right outside the security gate for Flamingo.

I would strongly suggest to visit My Beach (go to Ocean View and they can arrange the free taxi for you) a lovely idyllic beach with perfectly maintained gardens where you can have you own personal Palapa and sun loungers directly outside. There is a bar and restaurant there also. Again once you are ready to leave they will arrange free transport to take you back to Flamingo.

All in all we had a wonderful trip and cannot wait to book to go again. Next time we would hire a car so that we can explore a bit more.

Relaxing 14 Days

From the moment we stepped off the plane at the new Bodrum airport terminal it was plain sailing to a truly relaxing holiday just 20 minutes drive from the Airport. (No airplane noise at all for the whole 2 weeks)

Waking up to clear blue skies set the next 2 weeks off. The apartment was just as the description with plenty of room for 4 to sleep even though there was only the 2 of us. Very clean and tidy and well maintained.
Only had to look out whilst on the balcony to see the swimming pool and in the evening to watch the sun set.

There are plenty of swimming pools to dip in and out of within the complex if you fancy a change and not forgetting the slide pool on the complex.

Locals very helpful and obliging if you have any questions regarding the area.

Migros (supermarket) is near by selling everything but the kitchen sink but I am sure if asked they would know some who could supply one.

Resturants also nearby serving wide range of food in pleasant surroundings with staff who make your holiday a memorable one.

Local dolmus bus taking you from the entrance of FCC to either Bodrum and beyond or wide afield to Milas every Tuesday to a huge market.

Beaches are no problem either. There are several regular free bus services to the beach at Royal Heights, Sunset beach, free taxi to Mybeach and of course either a hire car that you can have delivered to your apartment or collect from the airport or the dolmus to explore various peninsulars in the area. Just follow your nose as there are no road maps in Turkey like a good OS map in the UK.

Would highly recommend this apartment to either couples or families, young or old.
