When we purchased our home we intended to retire in Albuquerque. Having eight children we invested blood, sweat and tears (literally) to make this home a place where our children and grandchildren would find safety, joy and comfort. We have many memories full of love and laughter - celebrations, feasts, hanging out by the pool; and future visions of our children getting married in the back yard and the grandchildren spending hours with us swimming, doing crafts and enjoying cooking with us in the kitchen.

Because of our professions, we both found ourselves doing business in both New Mexico and Texas and ultimately decided we needed a primary residence in Texas. After much debate, we chose to keep our home here in Albuquerque to allow others to experience and enjoy what we have created. It also gives us the ability to return to our haven when we're in Albuquerque.

Rose Cabezut purchased this house in 2005

New Mexico has much to offer: Outdoor Activities, Family Fun, Art, History & Culture, Ski Season, New Mexico Cuisine, Relaxing, and it's Unique & Unusual.

The location of this home is ideal in that you have quick access to major thoroughfares, making it convenient to access all parts of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. For those that just want to relax and not venture far, all amenties, including food, entertainment, shopping, parks, and recreational activities can be found within a 3 mile radius.

We chose this particular home when we purchased it for a variety of reasons. It has many windows and high ceilings, which provides for a very open and spacious feel. The master bedroom is on one side of the home, the guest room and bath are down their own hallway and the jack and jill bedrooms with their own full bath in their own area, which allows everyone some privacy. There are two living areas on either side of the home which also gives the option to accommodate two different social activities at the same time without disturbing the other, i.e. a group that may want to sit and talk while others want to watch a movie.

The backyard was key to solidifying this purchase. The neightborhood is on a slope so there are views of the mountains and unobstructed views of the surrounding area. We had three tiers to work with and we created three unique areas of enjoyment. The top patio is shaded and great for dining while looking out over the neighborhood, watching storms come in, waving at balloonists as they fly over or just relaxing and absorbing the surrounding beauty. The second level has a hot tub surrounded by rose gardens - the best seat in the house to watch the Balloon Fiesta ascensions, watch the sunrise or sunset, or gaze at stars at night. The third level has an inground fiberglass pool surrounded by lush gardens and a huge deck for entertaining - a true paradise.

Beautiful Property and perfect location!

As a traveler who uses VRBO and relies on feedback I was anxious to have a chance to write about this home.

Location was the tops! 25 minutes from ABQ airport, 5 mins to the nearest grocery, 8 mins to Planet fitness for the gym buffs, 10 mins to a very large mall and restaurant chains, 15 mins to Old Town ABQ, about 25 mins to the Sandia Peak Tram, and under a 5 min ride for our hot air balloon ride with Private Balloon Flights at the nearby park.

The house was beautiful.. the grounds were gorgeous. Loved the pool and the hot tub! Deck chairs and outdoor tables were an added plus. The views of hot air balloons overhead was really neat in the morning while eating breakfast outside. The kitchen is complete and it's nice that the owner Rose lets leftover items (coffee, spices, flour, bags, etc) stay in the home after each use.

The bedrooms were nice with very adequate closet space. Having 4 BR's and 3 full baths is a plus ! And if you're lucky to get the master suite... enjoy the king bed and bathroom suite and walk-in closet. You can also walk out into the back from the master BR. (I lost the coin toss for this room!)

If you have a family the only downfall I saw was that there was only one TV in the house, however it is in a nice separate family room. It didn't really bother us because we had so much sightseeing to do and other activities.

Having a garage is nice and it can fit 2 cars... as well as a new washer and dryer to use.

Our concierge Heidi was awesome and was there to greet us upon arrival. She is very pleasant and there to assist if you have any questions or issues.

Owner Rose is great too... she is very quick to address any issues that may arise... although that is really what Heidi is for since she is nearby.

Would definitely recommend this property. When I return to ABQ I will make sure to rent from Rose and refer her to anyone going out that way. Six of us older women (40's-60's) were there for the Balloon Fiesta and really had a blast watching the balloons fly overhead.

5 Stars without hesitation! Check out the FB page!

Owner's Response: Kelly - Sorry to hear you lost the coin toss! ;)
Thanks so much for the phenomenal review! I'm grateful for you sharing so much detail about the property, the location and Heidi - it is so helpful for other guests. One mention - our only having one TV in the home, and having it in a family room, was done with intent. :) ...and you nailed it...we want guests to get out and enjoy the surrounding area and the beautiful backyard!
We also appreciate your taking care of the home so others can enjoy it after you! You were a pleasure to work with and I look forward to having you back.

My younger brother, my two teens, and I enjoyed a refreshing six nights here the week before the Balloon Fiesta. Kings Garden is nestled in a lovely, quiet development that is ideal for morning strolls. A bike path with great views lies at end of street. The neighborhood is just a mile from Smith's, a wonderfully stocked grocery store. And about four miles from Cottonwood, possibly the biggest, freshest shopping center complex we've ever seen. My daughter was awe-struck.

Owner's Response: Joe,

Thank you so much for sharing about the neighborhood - I know all the information is helpful to other travelers. We're glad you were able to take advantage of so many amenities, especially getting out and enjoying the bike trail.
FYI - There's also a playground out there for families with younger children.

We have enjoyed our stay here in ABQ. The weather was sensational, the things we did just so interesting and the rhythm of how we went about our vacation was just what we needed. Most of all it was your house and your graciousness in providing the opportunity to rent it that made our stay so superb. The pool was so warm and clear and the attached waterfall makes for a peaceful addition as well as a great hydro massage for the shoulders and neck! :-) The kitchen was big and modern. The hot tub a great place to end the day and the living room such an inviting place to hang out and watch our favorite DVDs as well as a few of yours in the office library. If we ever come to ABQ again it is good to know that a place like yours and the communication we've had is ready and waiting. Thanks again and BTW, Heidi is such sweet person. She would be a great neighbor to anyone.

Owner's Response: Rick - We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and everything turned out so beautifully for you! I laughed when I read your comment about the waterfall massage - it's one of Jace's favorite things to do when he's in the pool as well. :)
Thank you so much for taking care of the home - we look forward to having you back again.
Have a wonderful holiday season!

Family Reunion

Thank you for making our family reunion so nice! The house and back yard/ pool area were absolutely beautiful! It was clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking for a large group. There were also some spices and condiments that we were able to use. The owner Rose and concierge Heidi were very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process and stay. The only thing that went wrong was the dishwasher wasn’t working, so the dishes had to be washed by hand.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Owner's Response: Carla, we're glad to hear your family reunion was a success and you enjoyed yourselves! I know it was a special time for all of you and I hope you get a chance to do it again.

((Reference for future guests - the dishwasher is less than two years old and is a top of the line digital dishwasher. The last few guests have had challenges with it, but only due to user error, not the dishwasher itself. We have now printed off a copy of the directives for the dishwasher, to be kept under the kitchen sink, which explains all the buttons and how to use them.)) :)

Love love love

We loved our stay!! Rose was so willing to help and Heidi was amazing all during our stay! We did have a couple of snags and Heidi and her husband jumped on it and helped fix it immediately. A few suggestions I have were that the hand railing on the stairs are a little loose and the TV in the living room was kind of hard to operate. A big one we had was the pool was too hot the fist day and a half. But it did start to cool off once the heat shade was shut off. Other than those few items, I could not have asked for a more wonderful place to spend time with my family!! The house was inviting and had all we needed to have a comfortable stay. I will definitely stay there again!!! Thank you!!

Owner's Response: Sasha,

Thanks so much for the wonderful review - and for letting us know about the stair railing. I will indeed have someone look into it - sounds like it needs to be tightened up.
We're glad you and your family were comfortable and enjoyed your time - we look forward to having you back again! :)
