Why John Pidgeon chose Hayesville

Beach vacations are great but we just love the lake. We have enjoyed many lakes in the southeast but the first time we visited Chatuge we knew we had found the perfect lake.

Our house is located in the Water's Edge Community and we chose to build here because we wanted to enjoy all of the beauty and amenities it has to offer.

Within 2 and a half hours of our home in Marietta, it is easy to get to and a scenic, therapeutic drive along the way. The views from the lake of the surrounding mountains are truly remarkable and unique. The lake is large but not too crowded. We feel safe as we enjoy a variety of water sports.

What makes this cottage unique

This cottage home has a layout that really works well for our family. It is new, well built, crisp and clean. It is comfortable and with enough room for everyone to have space to relax. The views are even more stunning than when we began construction. Close proximity to the water is a real plus. The more we visit Lake Chatuge, Hayesville, and Hiawassee, the more amazing things we find that there are to do.

What a gorgeous home. We had a great long weekend. The snow was beautiful and John was very accomodating with all the arrangements. My family and I enjoyed all that the extras the house had to offer. We were so close to shopping and restaurants. Can't wait to make another trip especially when the weather warms up.

This is a wonderful vacation home. The owners keep the place immaculate and were always incredibly kind. It was very convenient for us, because we have relatives who live nearby. We look forward to spending many more autumns there, watching the gorgeous leaves change into remarkable hues against the backdrop of Lake Chatuge. My daughters kept asking if we should ask the owners for the floor plan---haha. The accommodations are extremely comfortable, there are plenty of fun things to do even if you just stay inside, and the outdoor fireplace is delightful. Well done!
