The apartment is situated in Calabria between 2 small towns of Belvedere Marittimo and Diamante with lovely beaches and local shops, supermarket, markets, mountains, and national parks all within easy reach.
Calabria is a hauntingly beautiful region that is just now getting discovered by tourists.
The four National parks of Calabria and the protected areas around them are Pollino, Sila, Serre and Aspromonte.
The Pollino National Park is the biggest natural park in Italy, over more than 200.000 square kilometres in areas of absolute wilderness and cultural landscapes in southern Italy.
Unlike other holiday destinations where tourism dominates, this is the ideal location for a break, whether you’re looking for a brisk walk on the highest tops of South Italy, where the view extends to two seas (Ionian and Tyrrhenian), demanding trekking, daredevil rafting rides in canyons and down mountain rivers, or just a relaxing break in a natural unspoilt countryside.

Ski: Experience a piece of paradise in Italy through a ski adventure in Calabria. This popular destination for ski lovers everywhere bustles with activity during wintertime. Many villages within Sila, one of Calabria’s mountainous plateaus, transform into ski resorts. One of them is Camigliatello, one of the major tourist centers in Sila known for the wide array of winter sports.
Among the other ski resorts in Calabria people flock to is Gambarie, a small but wonderful place located in Aspromonte. Around 2,198 feet of wonderful vertical descent is enough to lure those showing a newfound interest in skiing, or have intermediate skills already.
A more sophisticated ski resort is Courmayeur, which offers plenty of downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, cable cars, chairlifts and helicopters – the perks! The place is frequented for summer and winter skiing.
Beginning ski enthusiasts may be better off trying baby slopes first, though.
