SWEET HOME STAY 2 Bedroom/1 Bath upscale vacation rental, which can accommodate 3 guests, is part of the ARCATA STAY LODGING NETWORK OF EXCEPTIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS.
It is an early 1950’s era free-standing bungalow with a private fenced yard and garden, located 6 blocks north of Arcata Plaza and 3 blocks from Humboldt State University. This vacation rental is appointed in whimsical mid-century vintage style: the floors are hardwood and Marmoleum, retro accessories and artwork collected by the owners enhance the décor, and the kitchen even features a 1946 O’Keefe & Merritt gas range in pristine condition. In the living room, which has a flat screen TV, the leather club chairs and loveseat provide a comfortable conversation area. The master bedroom is more traditional and has a queen sleigh bed, armoire with large flat-screen TV, a cozy reading area with a sumptuous overstuffed club chair, and mica reading lamps. The second smaller bedroom has a twin bed, desk, portable TV, and table with a reading lamp. The bathroom features a mint-condition porcelain tub with chrome telephone fixtures and shower conversion. This is an ideal vacation rental for guests who have issues climbing stairs or who seek a fenced yard for child and/or pet safety. From this convenient location, stroll 2 blocks to Wildberries Marketplace, down H Street to Arcata Plaza, or over to the University Gateway.

Guestbook comments from the manager
"Lovely hideaway." The cottage was lovely and beautifully appointed. Our kids and dog enjoyed the fenced yard, and the bed was super comfy. The proximity to Wildberries Market and downtown was great as well. The cottage felt very private, though there was some residual noise from the street at times. We would definitely stay here again!
I have had a love affair with Arcata since I moved here nearly 40 years ago to attend Humboldt State University. I graduated and could not leave this special place; our progressive kinda quirky little university town is like none other. I own and operate Arcata Stay Lodging Network, created in 2004, and manage Sweet Home Stay for my owner partners, two Arcata business owners.
Arts, culture, music, theater, shopping, food and drink, being 'green' before it was groovy, a lively downtown Plaza, Humboldt State University, architecture, history, and a friendly embracing community make Arcata a destination not to be missed.
