Cozy, modern beach cottage 1 block from beach with pool privileges. Sleeps up to 6 and is in the heart of virtually all major Island activities.

So quiet you can hear the soothing sounds of the surf while relaxing on the covered outdoor seating area. Twelve Oaks is known for its twelve graceful, moss draped live oaks that frame the native landscaping.

Twelve Oaks was completely modernized in 2002 and boasts such finishes as tile floors and pastel colors with modern beach furnishings that give the Cottage the same warm surroundings that you appreciate in your own home.

The front door opens into an alcove that adjoins the entrance into the master bedroom and the comfortable living area. While the well used kitchen table is a wonderful place to relax and converse, most guests opt to gather under the covered front porch or the private side porch, watching the deer graze in the large back yard.

The kitchen is very functional and the family chef will appreciate the convenience of the appliances and proximity to the family activities in the living area. The washer and dryer are just around the corner off the hallway to the second and third bedroom, easing your burden with an armload of laundry.

The spacious master suite is located on the front of the cottage, providing privacy, but also easy monitoring for the families comings and goings. Each bedroom boasts premium bedding and large closets for your personal belongings. Go ahead and unpack, your on island time! The master suite contains its own private bath/shower and there is a shared bath/shower for the second and third bedrooms in the rear of the Cottage. Decorative ceiling fans still the smell of the ocean, but if it gets too hot, the modern air conditioning system will cool you down quickly.

The second and third bedrooms sport a set of twin beds in each room and offer privacy for the kids or a little 'me' time for the in-laws.

Although each bedroom has its own cable ready HDTV, the comfy couch and chair seating in the living area tend to be a natural gathering place. The couch is so comfortable many a guest has preferred to make it their permanent quarters during their stay! The side door of the living area opens into a private side patio that is complimented by the large side and back yard.

Located directly across from the beach, you can be in the Atlantic in less than a minute, or if you prefer, the Cottage comes with complimentary pool and hot tub privileges located across the street at the Beach view Club. At the same time, you can walk to restaurants such as Sand Dune or Black beards or take in the shopping at the Island Shopping District. Golf courses are literally in the back yard and the Historic District is a short bike ride away.

Maybe you prefer to stick around the house, hanging with the family while you grill your favorite meal.

We are two couples that enjoy hospitality and interior design. We are privileged to own and operate multiple cottages on the Island. We enjoy staying at Twelve Oaks (when its not rented, which isn't often!) and our guests often comment on our attention to detail.

Why Dwight Jones chose Jekyll Island

We own other cottages on the Island, but fell in love with Twelve Oaks from the start. It is cozy, well located and sits in a beautiful natural surrounding, flanked by towering live oaks. It takes our breath away!

What makes this cottage unique

We feel that 'mega-cottages' are cold and impersonal. It's hard for families to spend quality time together when in a 5+ bedroom facility. Not so at Twelve Oaks. The Cottage is large enough to give every one space, but not so much that you have difficulty reconnecting and reestablishing family relationships. The excellent floor plan and modern beach decor will really help you decompress. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy your time at Twelve Oaks!
