About Kara Weld
I was born in Confluence and grew up kayaking the rivers and playing in the mountains. After getting married, my husband and I settled in Confluence and continued to enjoy the outdoors, started a business and raised 2 sons here. In 2010 we moved to nearby Morgantown, WV but didn't want to part with our home, so we started a vacation rental. The best part about owning vacation rental homes is that it allows us to share the wonders of the Laurel Highlands with others.
Kara Weld purchased this house in 2012
Why Kara Weld chose Pittsburgh
The Riverhouse has an unbeatable location and the perfect layout for a multi generational family, multiple families or large groups of friends. Step out the front door to the Yough River, hop on your bike and access the GAP trail or hike in the 50 acres of woods behind the house. The house is spacious, well appointed and clean. The large yard, picnic space and river side fire ring area are meant for family and friend quality time. Come to the mountains to relax and enjoy.
What makes this house unique
The Riverhouse has a fantastic, spacious downstairs. The stone fireplace in the living room is beautiful, there are hardwood floors in the drawing room and plenty of room and seating for everyone to be comfortable. The view of the river and the amazing Oak tree from the front porch is outstanding. One step out of the car from a long drive and instantly you are on vacation!
Don't forget the convenience to town, the quiet, the surrounding woods, strolling down to Lucky Dog Cafe for lunch or dinner, drinking coffee while reading the paper on the porch, basically no traffic on our one lane road, the eagles, heron and osprey, the fishing and the proximity to the bike trail, oh and the river!
Guestbook comments from the owner
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Yough Riverhouse. We had 10 family members and the house was more than comfy for us all. The location was perfect for all of our activities. We rode bikes, kayaked the river and fished. The campfire ring provided a great place to recall a lot of family stories and tons of laughter. Thanks for providing us with such a loverly home. We will be back!
