Watch the wind come in and the dolphins swim by from our beachfront terrace, complete with wet bar! Grab your water toys from our beachfront sail loft just steps from the water on our sloping sandy dune and GO!

We have a 'casitas” , or small houses on our beachfront property. This casita is a 500 sq ft studio. It has a full kitchen, full size bed and 2 pull out futon couches, private bathroom with shower, and terraces that face both the Sea of Cortez and the mountains.
Ventana Bay, Baja California Sur, Mexico is approximately 900 miles south of San Diego, 40 minutes from the La Paz airport, or about 2 hours from San Jose Del Cabo airport, on edge of the beautiful Sea of Cortez. The Sea of Cortez is home to one-third of the world’s whale and dolphin species and more than 500 species of fish. It’s islands provide habitat for more than 200 bird species and host breeding colonies of sea lions and turtles. The area is especially rich with rare cactus, plants and wildlife including the black tailed jack rabbit, which only lives here.

We fell in love with the area back in the 90's. When the Mexican government divided up the area and gave lots to the local Indian tribe, many of the residents decided to sell their lots. We fell in love with these 2 beach front lots becasue of the ease of access to the sandy beach, and the natural state of the property. The property was one of the few beachfront properties that still had all it's natural vegetation, and along with that, many animal species to view.
We call our property - Mokie's, it's not just wind! it is named after a very special member of our family - Mokie. Mokie was an abandoned and abused street dog that lived in the area. He adopted our family, and our other dog Siri as his best friend. Siri and Mokie came to us and proposed that Mokie join our family, and he has been with us ever since. Standing at a tall 8' high Mokie reminds us of our Baja home when we are not there, with his amazing optimism and ready for anything attitude.
There are 2 things unique about Mokie's. The first is it's natural vegetation, which gives privacy to our 2 casitas and a more awe inspiring desert expereince. One of our cactuses was estimated to be 900 years old! There are many birds and small animals living in the vegetation which are a joy to watch.
The other unique and wonderful thing about our property is the access to the beach. While other beach front properties are up on a high bluff overlooking the Sea, our property flows right onto the sandy beach for easy enjoyable access. Our property is also fenced and gated at the road and beach, which provides a more private and pet friendly environment.
