6 bedroom, 6 1/2 bathroom retreat with panoramic views of North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. Fully furnished home with gourmet kitchen, wood burning fireplaces and large porch perfect for outside dining and drinks. Estate sits on 400 acres of private property with access to hiking trails, waterfalls and creeks. Nearby access to kayaking, canoeing, biking and fly-fishing. 30 minute drive to Brevard's shops, restaurants and festivals. 1 hour drive to Asheville.
Paul and Libby grew up in Greenwood, SC, with the Blue Ridge in their back yard. For many years have lived in Charleston, SC, where they raised their daughter and son.
Paul Tinkler purchased this cottage in 2003
In 2001 they bought property on Nancy Mountain. They completed their dream house in 2003 and recently decided to share it with others on VRBO. Blue Ridge Manor is convenient to 'city life' in Brevard, yet remote. A perfect location for day hikes or for simply enjoying the surrounding natural beauty without leaving the back deck. The area is rich in history beginning with the Cherokees and moving on to moonshine production and timbering.
The home is a short hike from some beautiful waterfalls, a serene pond and the public lands in South Carolina. Jocassee Gorges State Park and Dupont Forest are nearby. You can simply relax and listen for the hoot of the barred owl or roam the adjoining 400 acres in hopes of spotting a bear or a turkey.
This house and the land it rests on is absolutely gorgeous. The back deck looks upon a far and wide landscape of mountains.
I would recommend this vacation rental for anyone of any age who is a fan of the outdoors. Honestly, the price is more than worth it for such a large house in a beautiful area.
We spend three great nights & four days in this wonderful house - there were 14 of us including 4 kids 1 to 5 years old. It is very beautfil and very well kept house in the very scenic and secluded setting. The house is very well equipped and has 6 bedrooms, each with own bathroom so staying with the large group is extremely comfortable. Fantastic kitchen with all the equipment needed, spacious common areas and great sunset views from the porch It is up on a mountain meaning that last 3.5 miles are gravel road so you or SUV would be the best option to get you there. It is less than an hour drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a little over that to Asheville. Definitely would recommend this to friends.
My family and I rented this wonderful home for Christmas 2013. There were 3 toddlers and 5 adults... plenty of room, cozy fire, amazing views, in a word, perfect!
We stayed at this magnificent mountain home during leaf change season, October 2013. The house is huge, and beautifully furnished. Views (large deck facing the Blue Ridge) are stunning. The house feels like is miles from anywhere—there is no noise from neighbors, and the expansive view reveals almost no sign of humanity.
My wife and I brought 7 teenage girls and we felt that we only halfway filled the house—there is room for quite a crowd here. The house and its surroundings are so expansive that the house can very comfortably host a family reunion-type group and no one should feel the least crowded.
The best part of the house is the hospitality of its owners—they demonstrate a most genuine desire that others take the same pleasure as the owners in enjoying this large chunk of heaven.
What a beautiful view! The cool mountain temperatures were delightful for us Texans as we met up with Georgia friends for a delightful time of fellowship, great home (gourmet) cooking, and lasting memories. The home is lovely and it is a great place for a family or friends to enjoy sharing time together. The "girls"
ventured into Brevard for lunch and shopping. The "guys" enjoyed hiking in the mountains outside
of Brevard. Everyone agreed that it was a fun, memorable adventure and we would like to repeat
it again. Sitting on the beautiful deck in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching the clouds dissipate in the valleys below as the sun warmed the air was delightful. Sunsets were awesome as we sipped a glass of wine. Each room was well furnished and lovely. Any questions we had were quickly responded to by the pleasant and cordial owner via email and telephone calls. Some of our Georgia friends were so impressed by the home that they talked of planning family outings
for long holiday weekends and summer vacations with their families. The photos do not do justice to the ambience and beauty of being in such a quiet, peaceful mountain location.
A group of friends spent a fantastic weekend here starting on March 8, 2013. The house is absolutely incredible and the view is pretty much perfect. I've rented a lot of mountain houses over the years, but this one is the best.
The bedrooms are large and comfortable. In the Spring and Summer, I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave the porch. You feel miles from civilization up there.
This house is ideal for a large family or group of old friends to re-unite.
