|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
The perfect place for a couple or a small family looking to get away from it all! The house is newly remodeled, with a lovely kitchen and living area and its own private yard.
The large upstairs bedroom is cool and breezy, with two king beds; enjoy a relaxing evening or a morning coffee on the balcony, and take in the view of the Ko'olau Mountains.
The downstairs was fully remodeled in 2012. The new new kitchen and living room open onto a private fenced yard with an outdoor breakfast table nestled in the shade of the plumeria tree.
This rental is an easy walk to the beach: it is 5 minutes or less to both Kailua and Lanikai beaches, the jewels of the Windward side of Oahu.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood, away from the vehicle and foot traffic in other parts of the Kailua area. Just down the street, walking distance from the house, is Buzz's Grill - the neighborhood watering hole and an excellent place for dinner. Kalapawai Market is just a little way further down the street - a local hangout, where you can get a cup of coffee and the newspaper, or have breakfast or lunch. Bob's Pizza and Island Snow (your go-to spot for shave ice) are right there, too.
In Kailua Town proper you'll find a new (and quite vibrant) Whole Foods, as well as many different restaurants, including Japanese, Mexican, and Italian food. There's also a great farmers' market every Thursday evening, where local farmers sell fresh produce and a series of food stands provides the best Oahu has to offer.
This rental provides you with peace and privacy, and great access to a world-class beach. Residents and visitors alike love the easy-going spirit of this area.
You can enjoy nearby golfing, snorkeling, kite-surfing, sailing, and boogie-boarding, or just hang out on the beach. And of course just a short drive away you will find world-class surfing and diving; now might be the time to take that surfing lesson! The Ko'olau Mountains offer beautiful hikes through lush forests.
Our family loves living here, and you will love it here too. We look forward to answering any questions you might have, and to meeting you someday, too.
We moved to Oahu from the mainland three years ago, and we quickly fell in love with Kailua. The small-town feel of the place, the welcome we received from those we met here, and the lovely beaches all just made us feel so at home.
Jonathan and Jenny purchased this apartment in 2012
We chose this property because it was beautiful, convenient, and private. The neighborhood is safe, and we liked how green it is - the landscape really stands out here.
The house is a classic Hawaiian home - mid-century modern with a lovely yard. The rental unit is an 'Ohana' apartment - a place for friends and family to stay and visit. It was built more recently and has a great feel, too. The previous owners of this house used to live on the Ohana side - they loved the upper veranda, and would sit out there every night watching the sun set over the Ko'olaus.
We stayed at this property for 8 nights in the winter of 2015. This property is fabulous. It is just as great as the photos look like it will be. We decided to stay here despite the fact it was a bit over our budget – and it was well worth it. Some of the advantages of this property: the private yard with table and chairs, the large upper floor balcony that was a nice spot to start the day, apt is super clean, amenities are top of the line, air conditioning wasn’t needed every night – but nice to have.
Jeremy and Jenny were good hosts. The neighborhood lost power for a few hours while we were there and both Jeremy and Jenny checked in on us and brought candles, very kind.
Kailua Beach is beautiful – we visited 8 of the Oahu beaches, and this was one of our favorites. Nice to have right in the “neighborhood”.
We enjoyed this rental because of all the space. There were four of us (one child) and the place was roomy and clean and will lit. This was a great place to stay.
We had a great stay at year-end here for 3 nights. Nice furnishings and good kitchen for simple meals + a short walk (even for small kids) to the beach park. Kailua is a nice change of pace from the rest of Oahu and a great place to relax for several days.
Our family loved our stay, and we loved this wonderful little house. We came with our two daughters, and found lots to do in Kailua. We spent time on the beach, rode bicycles, went for hikes in the Ko'olau mountains, and just really enjoyed our time here. You really feel like you're away from the crowds and able to settle down for a nice family vacation. Jenny and Jon were so friendly and thoughtful, and made sure we were happy and well taken care of. The place is a real find - the upstairs bedroom is big and airy, with a small porch and beautiful views of the mountains. The downstairs is cozy and clean, with a small kitchen, living and dining area. The little yard is great for playing or just hanging out. And the neighorhood is quiet and secluded. All in all this is a great spot. We'd definitely stay here again.
This rental met our basic needs. The layout is a small living room, small kitchen and bathroom downstairs with a great, large & airy bedroom upstairs. A nice small backyard with full privacy. The unit is adjoined to the owner's home, so you're kind of in their backyard. A short 3 minute drive to the beach. Also, Kailua is a nice place to visit as it's a normal town and not trying to bee touristy. If you're new to Oahu, keep in mind though that this is on the windy side of the island. There were a couple of days that were rainy and windy, so we drove to the other side and it was sunny with no wind. While it's windy over here, it's incredibly beautiful and green. Definitely worth a visit. The rental however was average.
This was the perfect place for our family of four ( 2 kids ages 5 and 8) for a week. The space was just what we needed. We really enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and breeze blowing as there are windows on three of the 4 sides of the bedroom upstairs. We loved the yard too. Our kids could play safely in the enclosed space as we put things away after our days out. We didn't cook much but the kitchen would have met our needs if we did. There is no oven but there is a toaster oven that worked well as a substitute. We easily walked to Kailua beach and the surrounding area. We hope to return soon!
