Girl Scout Getaway
What a great trip! We had a wonderful weekend up in Gladwin with the Girl Scouts. Twenty of us headed up on Friday night, ages 11-50+, and arrived to find a very clean and lovely property. It was just as pictured on the website, and everything was as explained by the owner. Even with a large group like ours, there was plenty of room. It was nice to have one large room for all the girls to sleep in, and 3 bedrooms for the adults. The sun room was great, because we could eat in there, do crafts and play games, while some of the other girls watched TV or crashed early. The kitchen was well-appointed and there were plenty of linens. We cooked all our meals and used the barbeque on Friday night. The girls loved it . We had two campfires while we were there, did a polar bear plunge Saturday morning, and the girls went fishing, roller blading and played volleyball with our net we brought up. We even had enough room to do some archery. The weather was absolutely beautiful, which didn't hurt, and the fall view was breathtaking.Several times during the weekend, the girls asked if we could come up every year, and maybe stay for a whole week. The Sugar Shack down the road was convenient for our forgotten items. It was a great getaway. I highly recommend it.
