This home is in a great location to experience the very best of Austin. It is one block to Soco (South Congress Avenue) and one mile to downtown Austin. You can walk, ride a bike, or take a cab or bus (bus stop is two blocks from the home).

The home is a charming 1920s cottage, approximately 1550 sq feet. It has been renovated in a style that mixes the old with modern amenities and style. It is clean, comfortable, uncluttered, colorful and artsy. It has two comfortable bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom and closet space. You will have kitchen and dining amenities, plus a serene and inviting backyard with a covered outdoor dining table. There is a living room with a gas fireplace, a separate room for watching television (or you can watch in the master bedroom), and a comfortable front porch sitting area. There is off street parking to easily fit two cars and possibly three, depending on the size.

The home is located in the heart of all the action; however, you will find it to be in a well established, friendly neighborhood with lots of old pecan and oak trees. The neighborhood features a mixture of historic and modern homes, and it has a park with a year-round swimming pool. One block away on popular Soco, you will find a wide variety of restaurants, food trailers, a quaint neighborhood grocery store, eclectic shopping, art galleries, craft vendors, salons, and live music. Right downtown you will find many more attractions, including a beautiful lake with a hike-and-bike trail, the infamous bat bridge, Auditorium Shores, Zilker Park, Barton Springs Pool, the Capitol, the Austin Convention Center, the Long Center for the Performing Arts, theaters, museums, spas and more live music, restaurants, and shopping.

This home is licensed with the City of Austin to operate as a short-term-rental.

About Carrice

I have lived in this Soco home for almost 30 years. I have seen the neighborhood change into the vibrant and hip area that it is now. My husband and I love living in this home because it is in a wonderful, friendly neighborhood, but within easy walking distance to a variety of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

Carrice purchased this house in 1983
Why Carrice chose Austin

This home is one block to Soco, but also so close to downtown that we can walk or take a short cab or bus ride. Austin has so many wonderful attractions in our area, including a hike-and-bike trail, and a lake for kayaking or paddle boarding.

What makes this house unique

If you are visiting Austin for the fun and festivities, this home is right in the heart of the activities, but it is also perfect for just hanging out, indoors or outdoors. Being in an established neighborhood, you get the benefits of large, beautiful trees which provide shade and comfort. Our home takes advantage of this by providing outdoor seating and dining areas.
