My week at Castrum Resort was an amazing experience. It is beautifully situated in the Umbrian country side, on a hill top with a wonderful view of the serene village below. Our accommodations revealed exquisite tiles, rough masonry walls, hand-hewn beams, tile roofs, as well as a spa and salt water pool. The owner has restored this castle with impeccable taste while remaining true to the original style and the surrounding landscape. I found myself constantly finding something new to admire and look at every day. Each apartment has its own distinct charm and is fully equipped with many amenities. A friend and I resided in the apartment Verde; while another friend enjoyed the Azzurro suite; both were extremly charming.
Paolo and his staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assure our stay was pleasant. I enjoyed sitting out on our private patio as much as relaxing poolside; both had exquisite views of the hillsides. Spoleto, Assisi, Montefalco, Terni….. are all easy day trips to experience the Umbrian Region.
Summing up, a great place for a holiday, a lovely peaceful location with very fine accommodations, set up by wonderful friendly host who bend over backwards to ensure your experience is exceptional. I would recommend this without reservation.

There is much on my website that I would like to refer you to re its terrific location, its tranquility, the courses you can do there from beer making to cookery, the onsite restaurant - excellent cuisine at local rates, the beauty "farm" where we offer Hammam massages and, just a few minutes down the lane, Strettura village itself, with its butcher, its baker, its general foodmstore and its 3 restaurants, one of which makes the finest pizza in the world !
Yes, indeed, in booking one of our central Spoleto apartments, of which we offer about 12, then, moving to Strettura Castle, Tracey and Sue really did savour the best of all possible worlds. However, we also offer many other equally amazing apartments, villas and pool properties because we and our partners, all of whom own the 40 or so properties that you see on our personal website (advertised on this page), have carefully selected all our properties for their uniqueness and location.
So, why not sample a town and country experience, just as Tracey and Sue did, experience the deep warmth and friendship of the Umbrian folks, sample the excellent food and wines of the different areas around Spoleto and feast your eyes on the ecstatic scenic differences between historic Spoleto, with its myriad of cobbled and arched streets, its pedestrian areas, teaming with shops, bars and restaurants, and our tranquil country places, set against the purple and pink mountain ranges.
Our “job” is to provide you with the best holiday ever ! And our “work “ is made so worthwhile by appreciative guests, to whom we offer a discount for a return trip. Indeed, more and more of our guests are returning year after year, some even rebooking for next year, while they are actually wiith us !
