Located a few walking minutes from the Old Town and the centre of Funchal, Quinta Esperança, a traditional house with 4 self catering apartments, all open plans, offers you a very quiet, calm and peaceful holidays. With lots of fruit trees, local plants, bananas and wine plantations, you can enjoy the typical Madeira environment.
ORCHID, is a new apartment (open plan) placed up on the top floor of the building. It is beautifully decorated, very private and enjoys a magnificent view from its balcony over the harbor and the whole city of Funchal. It is accessed by some spiral exterior stairs, so you must be sure you are well fitted to get up there, not to be disappointed on your arrival.
JASMIM, MAGNOLIA and LAVENDER apartments, are also open plans located on the ground floor, connecting directly to the gardens. Each of the areas are around 30sqm, each one totally equipped with living room, dinning place,bathroom, and kitchinet. They are located one beside the others, totally equipped and private . Outside, in front of each one, you have a table with some chairs so you can have your meals, or a wonderful leisure moment for resting. TERRACE: located upstairs with a lounge, enjoys a superb view over the sea and harbour. It is for the use of all our guests staying at the house, and can be used any time day or night. It is also accessed only by the spiral stairs.
Having only 4 apartments (all open plans) at the Quinta, gives you the excellent opportunity of coming along with some friends or family. Although being close to each other, all the apartments are very private and totally equipped. Privacy and quietness, is the main thing we want to preserve in this house, not having the feelling of staying in a Hotel, but a truly 'Home to Home'...

POOL, GARDENS, TERRACE, BARBECUE, LAUNDRY :
In the gardens, we offer you some comfortable furniture where you can just seat and relax, while reading a book, by the pool, or elsewhere in the gardens...... ..We have some deckchairs all around, that you can take to your favourite corner of the Quinta.....With the wireless system, you can be working at your lap top outside the apartment, even at the gardens.....The pool is for the exclusive use of our guests, so, only 4 couples share this as no one else lives at the property.The swimming pool area is provided with deckchairs, chairs, table and sun umbrella, for each couple.....We have a separated utility room with washing machine, dryer, iron, iron table, etc, for your commodity. In this place, you can also keep your empty luggage during your stay. We offer a small barbecue, that can be moved to wherever you prefer. It works with coal, which we don´t provide, but you can easily get it in the local supermarket.
LOCATION of the Quinta:
The easy location of the Quinta, a few minutes away from Funchal, offers you all the comfort of not having to hire a car.....On your arrival and departure day, we can provide you the transfer from and to the airport.....During your stay, the regular bus service to town (1,20€ per trip) is very good and the bus stop is located on the gate of the Quinta. If you like to walk, Funchal city center is just 15 minutes away, through a very nice road. As it is a bit steep to come back, better to take the bus number 31, the same that goes up to the beautiful Botanical Garden.....At a late hour, a taxi will cost you no more than 5€.....If you prefer to have a car just for a few days to explore the Island, we can try to get you the best price. The parking area in front of the Quinta , offers you plenty of space to park, any time day or night.
Staying either under the trees or at the marvellous sunny swimming pool, you will enjoy all the outside area. The sea view is absolutely breathtaking ....!!!
Knowing the Island - we also have another property in Santo da Serra, Calheta and Porto Santo; so, in case you are staying for two weeks or more, you can enjoy staying one of them in another part of the Island; this will give you the chance to better explore other views.
