I grew up next door to this cabin. It had originally belonged to my grandmother/grandfather and was passed down to me. I played professional baseball for 14 years and was part of the 2003 World Series Champion Florida Marlins.
This property has been in my family since the sixties. The mountains, streams, and trees are all a part of me and my upbringing.
The stars on a cold crisp nite. The day to day changes on the mountaintops whether it be the color of the leaves or the ice that forms near the very top. The wildlife that always seems to make an appearance and make each day feel unique. The history of the valley...a steam train used to travel back through the value to transport wood and coal.
My husband and I needed a home away from home for a few days while we did some nature walks/hikes. This place provided EVERYTHING (except a toaster) we needed. I even joked with my husband that, had I been so inclined, I could have made a cake from scratch with all the kitchen supplies provided!!
It is comfy and quiet, exactly what we wanted when getting away from our usually busy/noisy lives! The upstairs is just beautiful and the bed felt like a cloud! My only minor suggestion is we could have used a place to hang our bath towels upstairs. But we survived ;)
We loved visiting World's End State Park, Sunfish Pond & Mt. Pisgah State Park which all were any easy drive.
We plan to bring the kids & dog along next time to get more use of the creek and big back yard! Next time I'm bringing chairs along so we can eat breakfast creekside each morning...we didn't want to drag ur chairs around too much :)
We have already suggested this cabin to my sister who has 5 kids who love to hunt bc of how spacious it is and the proximity to the state game lands!
Thanks so much for your hospitality!
This was a really great experience and when in the area, will definitely stay again. Why pay for a hotel when you can have all this!
The cabin is PERFECT, has everything we needed and is great to have the owner nearby to help, the kids loved the fire pit which we used every night while watching the stars. Having the creek right at front is great, and the views are awesome. We were going to visit the state park, but the cabin is so PERFECT that we decided to spent the whole weekend in it, my wife and I loved the fireplace, and the BEAR!! inside. We enjoyed watching the deer every evening, AWESOME !!! place.
What a great cabin. Has everything you need, and if there is something you do, the owner is nearby to help in any way. If you like quiet, picturesque setting, this is the place for you.
We were in town for the weekend to attend the Apple and Cheese Festival and very much enjoyed the brief time we had at the cabin. It was clean and well cared for. The owner was helpful and available should there have been a problem, which there wasn't. The kids really enjoyed the creek across the street and the deer that liked to hang out in the back yard. I only wish we had more time to spend in the cabin. We hope to stay again next year. Thanks for a great weekend.
We could not have been happier with our stay! We were in town for a wedding so we really didn't get to appreciate the cabin as much as we would have liked to. The owner allowed us to bring our 2 labs who took advantage of having the creek across the street. We saw about twenty deer the first morning we had been there. The fire pit kept us warm as we sat outside to catch a glimpse of the stars. I hope to return to this beautiful cabin in the near future!!
Located in a very rural and picturesque area in Southwestern Bradford County, the cabin is just off the road with the Schrader Creek directly in front. The Creek can have a white water rating from 1-4 depending upon the season and rainfall. Many miles of dirt roads and meandering streams that are great for trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing or rafting/kayaking. Lamoka is a beautiful place to see with large rock formations and great swimming holes. Sunfish Pond County Park can also be found nearby for great fishing and camping. The Finger Lakes and wineries along with the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon all make great day trips. Eagles Mere and Worlds End State Park all also less than an hour away. The cabin sits in a green valley between three mountains that is within 1/2 mile of 35,000 acres of state games lands which offers great hunting and scenery.
