If you like the comforts of a boutique hotel but want the space a ski chalet can provide, this may be your answer. The location of this beautiful home, right on the slope of Whistler Mountain, makes it the perfect ski-in/out choice for your vacation. This bright, open-concept, three level luxury residence is ideal for romantic adult getaways, business groups or fabulous family vacations where you don't have to worry about getting children to the gondola or to ski school.
The five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms ensure that up to 10 persons are comfortable in every way. This lovely handcrafted home was built with reclaimed fir and features Pennsylvania Bluestone floors. The floor to ceiling windows fill the house with natural light and allow you to feel at one with nature. You have trees for privacy and breathtaking mountain views from every angle of the open plan living space. After a long day on the slopes you can prepare snacks and meals in the gorgeous gourmet kitchen, relax in the hot tub watching skiers come down the mountain while enjoying the sun setting on The Peak and listening to the sounds of Whistler Creek or curl up comfortably next to the woodburning fireplace with your book. At the end of your day you will fall asleep in superbly comfortable beds with luxury linens and feather/down pillows and duvets.

Our names are Scott and Sandra. Our children are grown but we have two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Jewel and Jessica, both of whom love the time they spend at Whistler. Scott and I are physically active people. At Whistler we enjoy downhill skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, road cycling, swimming, etc. We have owned property in Whistler for almost 30 years and still love to ski but nowadays we also enjoy travelling for part of the winter in our Airstream trailer.
Sandra McKellar purchased this house in 1997
Snowridge is, in our view, simply the finest location at Whistler. Our house is right on Whistler Creek where you can actually hear the sounds of water rushing by. For skiers, nothing can surpass the fact you walk over a small bridge and are on the famous Dave Murray Downhill run. At the end of your day you ski right to the bridge. No long walks in ski boots carrying skis and poles. At Creekside you can step outside to watch stars at night or wander off for a walk in freshly fallen snow. Everything one needs is within walking distance while the main village with all its hustle and bustle is only 4 kilometres away and can easily be accessed by private vehicle, bus, taxi or by walking on the magnificent valley trail.
We put a lot of time and heart into building this home. The large fir posts used throughout are part of the structural design. The wood was all reclaimed and refinished. You can see how truly beautiful it is. The dining table was made from leftover pieces of this reclaimed wood as were the stairs going up to the bedrooms. The rock fireplace mantle was made from wood taken from an old farm building and if you look closely you can see the circular saw marks made from the cutting tools used about 100 years ago. The open concept plan with floor to ceiling windows provide extraordinary mountain views from every angle.
The property is located at Creekside, four kilometres south of Whistler Village. Whistler offers everything you expect to find in a world class resort - shopping, restaurants and services. Short drives north or south of Whistler take you to endless miles of terrific hiking/cross country skiing. The small village of Pemberton, 5 world class golf courses and the 2010 Olympic cross country ski trails at Callahan are easily reached.
