The Cliff House is walking distance to two beaches and is the perfect place to entertain, vacation, retreat, relax, rejuvenate, escape, or simply center yourself.
Lovely light-filled, spacious home a walk away from a delightful beach. Our family had a very enjoyable stay here.
The house was perfect for our large family gathering. The ping pong table was a definite plus. The kitchen was well stocked, so there was plenty to cook and serve a large group. We will definitely return.
Our entire family and extended family fit into the Cliff House, everyone cozy in a comfortable bed at night, everyone able to cook a special dinner in the well outfitted kitchen, happy to play every game we knew in the roomy living room or around the
expansive dining table. The house has been designed to accommodate big, social
gatherings with quiet privacy. All the bedrooms are located well away from the
living and dining area, providing retreats for those not up to a late game of
Rummikub. The house is close to Shell Beach for daily swims
and a perfect jumping off point for all the Pt. Reyes Seashore trails and beaches.
The deck was great for barbecues and lounging about and the views from the
deck and every room in the house were spectacular.
We'll be back!
We have gathered as the female portion of our family for 10 years and now we have found the perfect place to be for this very special weekend tradition. It is Cliff House !! There was room for all of us to be together, sleep in our own beds, sit at the big table for meals and conversation. We even had room to dance and play during our Saturday night celebration. We played Round Robin ping pong which left us breathless and laughing. Some of us hiked, shopped, worked on an art project or just enjoyed the amazing , jaw dropping view from the great room.
The kitchen was very well equipped which was good because we cooked all our meals at Cliff House. The house was clean and so very inviting. We will return again and again.
We live about an hour from Cliff House. We (a family of 5) decided that we would like to go someplace which had nature, convenience, comfort, and would enable us to go hiking, biking, kayaking, and making meals and playing indoor games TOGETHER, and at the same time be big enough so that if anyone needed private space, that would be available as well. Cliff House far exceeded our expectations, and we felt privileged to be "invited" into the special home of our hosts (who we have never met). Everything imaginable was available in the home. Everything was perfect. Whoever designed the layout of the home had the same "spiritual architect" that we would have engaged had we designed our own home in this beautiful environment. Our family ranges in age from 31 to 68 and each of us repeated over and over again how wonderful the time together at Cliff House was for us individually and collectively. Thank you for making your lovely home available to us. Please feel free to use us as a reference for others who may be considering a stay at the Cliff House. Although our family now scatters with the winds for next 10 months, we hope that our next reunion will be at Cliff House. Thank you.
We were in Point Reyes for the best week of weather in the country – Mid-January and temps in the mid-70s, skies of clearest blue. We saw whales, we took long hikes, we walked barefoot on sandy beaches. We ate meals as good as any we've eaten in France or Italy in the summertime.
The house was a perfect launch pad and place to hang out. The sun rises in the mornings over the mountain, and lights the whole upstairs. In the evenings, after a day outside, the fire in the large fireplace lends warmth, both physical and atmospheric. The house itself is redolent of 1970s architecture and fixtures, but everything works well, is clean and attractive. We had 6 people at a time, which was about the right number. We would return happily.
Our house is located 1.3 miles from Inverness and the property is minutes away from Point Reyes National Seashore. Within the park there are many beautiful hiking trails, great wildlife sitings including whale watching, fabulous beaches, and a bay for swimming, kayaking, and sailing. The visitors center is informative and there is a Miwok Indian village just outside the center. Our children loved to play among the dwellings there when they were youngsters. The wild flowers in the spring are wonderful!!! If you don't want to drive you can simply walk to a couple of local beachs on Tomales Bay: Chicken Ranch and Shell Beach. Both are great for a picnic, a stroll, a swim or kayaking. After the exercise you will be hungry and there are two local cheese makers in the area; The Cowgirl Creamery in Pt. Reyes Station and Nicasio Cheese Factory (organic). There is a great farmers market on Saturday mornings in Point Reyes Station in summer and the Bovine Bakery there has the best bear claws ever!!! For pizza there is no better place than Cafe Reyes in Pt. Reyes and for brunch the classic Pine Cone diner harkens back to a time past full of cheeseburgers and thick milkshakes.
