Nicely furnished; even has an Amish fireplace! The bunk bed hallway space was converted to an office that includes an HDMI monitor, keyboard and color scanner/printer - just bring your laptop! Upgraded High Speed Internet is free!
Includes Basic Cable as well as a blue-ray DVD player with HULU, Netflix, and Pandora - and a cabinet full of DVDs for those rare rainy days.
Improvements this fall include:
New window treatment to darken the living room for those that want to sleep in!
New laminate flooring in the bedroom and office!
New kitchen with granite countertops!
Large closet in the bedroom plus a smaller 2nd closet. Has two toilets, two sinks, one shower/bath tub; all new hardware. The bedroom has a Hilton quality king bed and a cozy leather love seat. The living room includes a queen tempurpaedic sleeper, and a twin size sleeper love seat. Just rotate the love seat on the tile floor to parallel it with the couch before opening it. There's also an auto-inflatable elevated twin air mattress in a box in the office alcove that would be a cozy fit in the hallway. Flat screen TVs in both the bedroom and living room.
The well equipped kitchen includes dinner settings for 8, a full array of small appliances, as well as new stainless appliances including microwave w/convection oven, stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator with ice maker, and filtered drink dispenser in the door. New AC/Heater (with turn off sensor when the patio door is opened) and water heater. There's even a high tech combo washer/dryer - throw the clothes in the wash before you go to bed and they are dry when you get up!
It's on the 9th floor, with a large balcony that overlooks the quieter garden area and beach on the west side of the complex.
Facility amenities include a well equipped exercise room, large inside and outside Jacuzzis, sauna, and one of the two large outdoor pools is heated to 85 degrees all winter. Walk to restaurants and lots of arcades and rides. Or, in the winter, join fellow residents in the downstairs lounge for group activities any day of the week!
This is my permanent home, when I'm not traveling for work, so it is set up for my comfort. (Unlike the majority of Summit vacation rentals that have the uncomfortable wicker furniture and poor internet service.) I want you to feel like a cherished guest in my home.
I work for FEMA as a Reservist and get deployed to disasters around the country as a map maker. (You will see maps and GIS books throughout my home.) When I don't work I don't get paid so your visit helps me to more smoothly manage those down times. Currently (August, 2014) I am working in Montgomery, AL on the spring flooding and tornado outbreak.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Mary, many thanks for renting your home to us for the week. It is a lovely place with such personal touches. I feel like I'm staying at a friends' home. I have bragged on you and your lovely condo and everyone is so jealous. We have had a wonderful time relaxing! My son did the go-carts, husband and son golfed at Hombre Golf Club, and went on the 2 hour jet ski dolphin tour. Water is a little too cold for me. The weather has been beautiful all week. 75 is and sunny every day! Tomorrow we head back to Indianapolis, but I have taken one of your cards and we hope to return again, sooner rather than later. God Bless.
I live here - when I'm not deployed to disasters as a map maker. I work for FEMA and travel for months at a time. I've been working on the Alabama flooding and tornado outbreak this summer.
My home is your home. I have made it comfortable for myself and my friends, who use it when it's not rented. I'd like to consider you as my new friends and for everyone I leave packaged foods, e.g., coffee/tea, condiments, spaghetti/sauce, snacks, etc. in the cupboards and fridge so you don't have to run out for groceries the night you arrive. Since my housekeeper only resupplies the basics, I hope you replace anything that is getting low or has run out the next time you get to the store so my guests arriving after you can have the same convenience. Or leave your own favorite non-perishable treats. Please throw out any perishables before you leave.
I removed the bunk beds in the hallway in favor of a comfortable oversized twin sleeper chair in the living room. I made an office where the bunk beds were and I upgraded to the high speed WIFI Internet so I could enjoy Hulu and Netflix. I added a larger closet in the bedroom with lots of shelving. I have furniture that I enjoy living with, including a fine dining set that, by sliding the single chair out of the way and the bench over, let's me have a table set for six. I have a dinette on the balcony as well as gravity chairs and side tables.
While all but one guest has said how much they like having my personal things available to use (fiction, non-fiction and cook books, lots of kitchen gadgets, office equipment and supplies, beach toys, etc) I did have one visitor that complained that it felt too much like a home and not like a vacation get away. I offered them a full refund if they moved out the night they arrived, even found them an alternative condo in the complex, but they decided to stay. Go figure.
The view is amazing! I have never seen anything more beautiful than a lightning storm come in over the waters at night. I enjoy the camaraderie of the locals and meeting interesting people from all over the world. Or just napping in my gravity chair, listening to the waves breaking on the shore, soaking up the warm winter sun that bakes the balcony in the afternoon. Spinakers is my favorite place to eat in town and it's just a short walk down the beach with tables on the beachs' edge.
