Wilderness residence:
Our goal is that you enjoy yourself in our house. The cycling trail from Regen to the Czech Republic goes directly past our house. In our garden the kids will enjoy a small football area and a knights Castle. There is a real lawn soccer pitch about 250 meters away from the house which can also be used. This pitch is located directly on the Regen river which has a beautiful natural bathing areas( or for skimming stones on water, etc). If you fancy a barbecue: We will supply charcoal for our walled garden barbecue free of charge.
Eating and drinking:
In our village, (approx 350 inhabitants) there are a total of 4 guest houses which serve food: One is located 15 minutes away by foot (Haus zurWildnis) and is only open during the day. The “Glasgalerie(approx. 250 meters away) is also only open during daytime hours. A third (highly recommended) guest house is the “Gasthaus Ludwigsthal(approx. 300 meters away). The fourth guest house is directly across from our house (approx 30 m) Gasthaus zum Wurzisepp) In the village of Schleicher (just over half a mile away) there is a very good place for local cuisine(trout, pork knuckle and selection platters of meats, cheeses, bread etc) Apart from these there are at least 5 pizzerias in Zwiesel (3 miles away). There you can find a number of bakeries and Norma, Aldi, Rewe, Penny, Neukauf, Edeka, Real and Netto supermarkets.
Autumn special:
Between 4.11. and 01.12.2007, for every booking of 7 days or more you get one day free and 1 free entry pass for everyone in the group for the indoor water park in Zwiesel.
Ski:
You will be staying very near to Grosser Arber (7 miles), which will host two Ski World Cup races in March 2008. The Arber ski resort offers slopes for beginners through to experienced skiers. It also offers a toboggan run and the possibility of night-time skiing. Arber is one of the most guaranteed snow areas in the whole of Germany, with skiing during the Easter holidays almost always possible. You can get to Grossen Arber by ski bus or by car. The ski bus stops right outside our door. Apart from this there is also a t-bar lift in our area. For cross country skiing fans: In a 6 mile radius there are 4 cross country skiing centers with over 50 miles of runs. The nearest entry point to the run is roughly half a mile from our house.
Other Activities:
Tobogganing, cross country skiing (3 ski ares in 6 mile radius, nearest stop 0.6 miles) Alpine Ski (World Cup Ski area, practice lift available)
