Domaine la Castagne is a converted Lauragais farm, set in 2 acres of tranquil grounds, surrounded by beautiful rural countryside, situated midway between Toulouse and Carcassonne (both airports 45 mins). Ideally situated to explore historic Cathare country, there are numerous castles and abbeys to visit and the UNESCO world heritage site of Carcassonne is just 40 mins away. Walk or cycle along the Canal du Midi ,visit the vineyards of Languedoc or simply relax and enjoy the pool and gardens.Mediterranean beaches, and Pyrenees are easily accessible for days out. La Castagne is only 7km from local shops and restaurants.The thriving market towns of Castelnaudary and Revel with their weekly markets,restaurants and all amenities are just 15 minutes away. The charming gites each feature an open plan living/dining/kitchen area, bathroom with shower and private garden or terrace with BBQ and outdoor furniture. Fabulous south facing enclosed pool and well equipped play/games area.

Corbières is a delightful two storey converted stable with its own private garden and parking for one car alongside the property. French doors lead into an open plan living/dining/kitchen area retaining features from its life as a stable. There is a comfortable sofa, armchairs and a dining table to accommodate 7 people. Downstairs is one double bedroom along with the shower room and separate toilet with washbasin. Upstairs a mezzanine bedroom with twin beds leads through to the second family bedroom with 1 double ,1 single bed & cot. Outside in the private garden there is a sundeck with loungers in addition to table, chairs, parasol and a BBQ. Electric heating allows year round usage. Highchair, stairgate & baby bath also available.

There is a grassed area for ball games/badminton (balls & racquet's provided), swings & slide and a trampoline with safety net. The village of Labastide d’Anjou which just 7 mins drive away has a boulangerie, butcher, tabac, doctors, pharmacy, hairdresser and three restaurants. The historic village of St Felix de Lauragais just 10 mins from La Castagne has an artisan boulangerie, and two restaurants. There are 2 Michelin starred restaurants within 15 minutes drive of the property.

Surrounding area: Revel:Just a 20 minute drive to the North is the thriving bastide town of Revel with its famous Saturday market and many ‘Art Meubles’ furniture workshops . Castelnaudary: Set on the basin of the Canal du Midi ,Castelnaudary has all amenities and a Monday market. Castelnaudary is situated just 15 minutes to the east of Domaine La Castagne. This capital of the regional speciality dish 'Cassoulet' has numerous restaurants where you can partake of this local delicacy.
