Berry House is an elegant Georgian home situated remotely in open farmland close to the cliffs of the rugged and dramatic North Devon coast. This is a designated 'area of outstanding natural beauty' and the house has superb views out to sea as well as inland across a wooded valley to the tall medieval tower of St Nectan's church. Great care has been taken to retain the character of the building whilst discreetly incorporating the best modern services and to promote a great sense of contemporary style without the feeling of being 'too new'! The flag stoned entrance hall with main staircase opens out to a formal paneled drawing room with open fireplace, and the dining room with log burner. The original kitchen is well appointed with flag stone floors and central island unit. The breakfast room with sea views leads out to the patio which is ideal for informal dining and barbecues. There are 10 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, games room and TV lounge.

Berry House is located on the cliffs approx 1.5 miles form Harland with magnificent views out over the cliffs and ocean. It is 9 miles from Bideford which is the largest town nearby. It is also approx 20mins drive from the pretty villages of Appledore and Instow on the estuary.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Weekly hire is for 6 nights and arrival and departure days are flexible. The cost is £6125. We require a cautionary deposit on the property of £500 prior to your stay but this is refunded after your stay subject to deductions for any damages - hopefully none!!
  • Weekend lets start at 4pm on a Friday and finish at 10am on a Monday - we can sometimes vary these, please ask when booking. The cost is £3850. We require a cautionary deposit on the property of £500 prior to your stay but this is refunded after your stay subject to deductions for any damages - hopefully none!!
  • Midweek breaks can be any two nights beginning at 4pm on a Monday and finishing by 10am on a Friday. The cost is £2385. We require a cautionary deposit on the property of £500 prior to your stay but this is refunded after your stay subject to deductions for any damages - hopefully none!!

This is an ideal are for walking and seaside activities many of which we can arrange for you - Kayaking, abseiling, coast-steering, surfing to mention a few. There is a great spa near to the house for more leisurely pursuits. We can also arrange all, some or none of your catering for you during your stay - we use local produce and great local chefs to produce fine dining, picnics, bbqs, brunches and celebratory meals.
