Chalet Rivendell is situated at 2000 metres in Lauchernalp a small village high above the Lotschental Valley enjoying panoramic views of the famous Bietschorn Mountain and glacier. Chalet Rivendell is located within walking distance of the main ski lift,ski school / hire, internet cafe, shops, restaurants and bar. The Chalet is ideally situated for ski in - out in the Winter and makes a great starting point to enjoy many of the lovely walks all year around. The resort of Launchernalp has one of the most reliable snow covers of the region and is ideal for all levels of skiers and snowboarders with 33 Kilometres of trails from 3111 metres down to the chalet at 2000 meters and on down to 1375 metres in Wiler. Chalet Rivendell has been inspected by the Swiss Tourist Office and awarded a 4 star rating from 2008 - 2012, is luxuriously appointed to a high standard and fitted with all modern appliances to make your holiday special.

  • PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
    RENTAL PERIOD IS WEEKLY, SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. The prices are based on 7 nights from Saturday
    50% deposit within 1 week of making reservation.
    50% balance payable 2 months before booking date commences, or by negotiation.
    100% payment if reservation made in less than two months of commencement of weekly rental.
    All payments are made directly to the owner and must be made to our Credit Suisse bank account by Transfer. Upon receipt of request for reservation we will advise the bank details.
    CHANGEOVER DAY is SATURDAY AFTERNOON after 2PM for ARRIVALS and SATURDAY MORNING by 11AM FOR DEPARTURES
  • BOOKING PROCEDURE:
    1] Carefully check the ACCOMMODATION information to ascertain that the chalet meets your requirements.
    2] Check the AVAILABILITY booking calendar – to select suitable dates to book your holiday.
    3] Then email the owner via the CONTACT US email form to reserve your weekly rental dates.
    4] The owner will confirm your reservation by return email and you will then have 7 days to pay the initial deposit or full weekly amount if reservation is made within less than two months of the start of the weekly rental.
    5] At a minimum the owner will require at least a clear week to be available before the weekly rental commences – in order to be able to confirm a booking.
  • 6] A weekly cleaning charge of CHF150 + CHF 15 per person must also be made in cash to the Chalet Manager prior to departure from the chalet.
    8] Our Chalet Manager Beatrice Ebener - lives locally and speaks German, and basic English – will ensure the chalet is ready for occupation – and the owner will email key and contact details before arrival.
    9] The Chalet Manager and owner will be contactable by telephone or email during the weekly rental should an emergency arise.
    10] The Chalet Manager will arrange the location of the keys for arrival and departure.

Notes: Chalet Rivendell is a 3 story property all south facing with out door sun available from a choice of patio areas. The middle level of the chalet provides all the day to day living area and kitchen with Satellite TV, DVD and CD player. The entire chalet enjoys under floor heating providing a lovely back ground warmth, we have a wood burning used more for fun rather than extra heating. The lower level has the Ski room with HEATED BOOT DRIER SYSTEM, storage, washing machine and tumble drier. All linen and towels are provided, the chalet is cleaned before and after arrival by our local agent who is also available to assist with any problems you may have. No food arrangements, many of our clients who drive to the resort either bring or purchase locally provisions and have delivered using the efficient transport system available from the ski lift company ( charge payable locally) There is a local supermarket that provides all essential supplies and special items to order.
