Enjoy a cool beverage, a gentle breeze and a fantastic view of the Atlantic from the spacious deck or screened in patio.
We are Kirk and Marion Love, we reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Kirk has always lived in Michigan and Marion is originally from North East England.
Kirk or Marion Love purchased this villa in 2008
When we first visited the Island many years ago we fell in love with it and the beautiful people. We decided it would be a wonderful place to have a vacation home.
It is very quiet and peaceful, definitely a place for rest and relaxation. It took us a couple of years to find the perfect location and home and we could not be happier with our choice. The sunrises are spectacular and the views are breathtaking.
We've been to Eleuthera many times over the past few years, but only recently discovered this gem of a house. We've been back 3 times since, most recently staying for a full month. Unlike many rental houses on Eleuthera everything is in pristine condition, and the caretaker Howard will handle anything you need help with. The house has a wonderful screened in patio which is an essential as Eleuthera beachfronts can get very buggy at night. We'll keep coming back!
Kirk and Marion, you have truly outdone yourselves. I wish I had a picture of the look on the kid's faces as we pulled up the driveway. The house was amazing, the layout was perfect and it had everything we could possible need and more, kayaks, fishing polls, snorkel gear, beach towels etc. The kitchen had everything we needed and more with beautiful appliances. Our daughter took some college classes over the summer so having the wifi allowed her to have a great vacation as well as getting her classwork done. The water was calm and crystal clear. The view from the deck is breathtaking. It's perfect for families with kids of all ages (we had two 16 year olds and two 20 year olds.) My husband and I were already familiar with the island as we were there back in February so other than showing the kids other sites on the island, because they had never been there before, we could have stayed at the house the whole ten days. Howard was very nice and came to pick up the garbage every few days. We did have a bad storm one night and lost power, but the house generator kicked on right away and it only lasted a short time. Yes, there are a lot of steps down to the beach but they were not an issue for us. Bug spray is a must for the no see ums but you will find that anywhere on the island. A rental car is a must. We enjoyed lighthouse beach with the breathtaking views, pack a lunch and water. The Friday night fish fry is fun and that is where we saw the most people the whole time we were there, you have the the beaches mostly to yourselves. Harbour Island is a nice day trip and there are lots of local shops if you want to buy souvenirs. The locals are very friendly, everyone helps each other out. We had some car trouble and every car stopped to see if we needed help. Fishbone Tours offers a great 4 hour trip to see sea turtles, snorkel, dive for starfish, and look for conch. Thank you again Kirk and Marion, I can honestly say that it was the best family vacation we have ever had and we look forward to returning.
This was a great place.Stunning location. We were unprepared for the steps to the beach. One person has mobility deficits and steps were a challenge. Fortunately, there were landings. Great appliances and beach toys. Plenty of linens. Watch out for serious no see ums. Loved the screened in porch. Used it every hour of the day.
A rental car is a must. Credit card acceptance in stores, etc. almost non-existent. We brought a cooler of meat, chicken, cheese. Selection in stores limited. A very well kept house.
Lots of outdoor equipment including some not listed. We did not see many fish while snorkeing the reef at the house and never found a good snorkel spot we could drive to and access from shore. For good snorkeling you may have to take a boat to get to a good spot.
Everything worked except for the safe, and the caretaker never came by to fix it.
There were several power outages, so the standby generator is a real plus.
Stop by the tourist board office in GH and pick up maps and other good info.
Go to Lighthouse Beach. It is spectacular.
We loved the screen in porch but, DO NOT DEPEND ON THE SCREENS TO KEEP THE NOSEEUMS OUT! These bites are worse than mosquitos and these insects are small enough to get through the screens. ONLY DEPEND ON THE SCREENS IF THERE IS A STIFF BREEZE AND IT IS SUNNY. OTHERWISE, SHUT THE WINDOWS AND CRANK UP THE AIR CONDITIONING.
We stayed at Barefoot Villa for 2 weeks in April. This is our 4th year staying at houses on Banks Road. We found our new favorite house. Love the house, love the beach ,love the island. The weather was perfect. Best vacation ever /every time we visit the island. We hope to stay at Barefoot Villa next year.
This was the fourth visit to Eleuthera for my family, and each time we have stayed on Banks Road in North Palmetto Point. Comparable to our prior visits, our time at Barefoot Beach Villa was superior in every sense. First & foremost, Kirk & Marions home is immaculate. The description on this site does not do justice to the thoughtful appointments of the home. Everything that we needed, from a meat thermometer to Beatles CD's for long car rides was on hand. Add to that the fact that everything seems new and extremely well loved, the end result is that we could not have been happier with the home. The location is sublime. Having stayed at multiple homes along this beach, I can honestly say that there is no better swimming area or more pristine stretch of sand. We have two small children, and it's a constant worry for us when they swim in a rocky area, as the coral beds in Eleuthera are quite sharp. The beach below the home is a long clean arc of soft pink sand opening to a magnificent rock free lagoon. The beach is flanked on both ends by small headlands giving it an added protection from higher waves, wind, and seaweed debris. All in all, this beach location is so perfect, one need never leave it for another. The reef off shore is abundant with an array of tropical fish, sea stars, crustaceans, and exotic coral formations. More than enough to keep an avid snorkeler satisfied. The caretaker for the property, Howard, was also an absolute treat to deal with. Though we had zero difficulties on our trip, Howard always made us feel as though should something occur or be needed, he would be immediately at hand to assuage any concern. He and his family are the kind of people that are too nice to be true. I would recommend the Love's home to anyone who is looking for the ultimate expression of an authentic Eleuthera beachfront vacation. Their hospitality, incredible home, and genuine concern for our satisfaction left nothing to be desired. 100%, five stars, two thumbs up, absolutely beyond reproach. So much so that we are already looking to reserve for 2015. On behalf of my family and I, Kirk & Marion, we cannot thank you enough.
