Camp Serenity is owned by Jennifer Boudreau and her husband Louis Herman. We purchased this property in 2012, added a new addition and upgraded the entire property.
Jennifer Boudreau purchased this house in 2012
Our parents still live in the area and Kathleen owns a home right down the road so Camp Serenity was the perfect choice for us.
Camp Serenity was a great location for a 3 family get together for new years. The house has a great setup and lots of charm. Our group of 13 was very comfortable here. The trip was a surprise birthday gift for my wife. She and her girlfriends had a great time antique shopping in nearby Cooperstown. The owners were very helpful with tips prior to arrival and flexibility in our arrangements. I highly recommend this place.
Camp Serenity was perfect! Our daughter's wedding was at the Farmer's Museum on 10/4 and being that it was a destination wedding for both families I wanted a home that I could have all the bridesmaids staying with the bride the night before, getting ready the morning of the big wedding and a beautiful location for pictures. Camp Serenity was spacious, owners were great and there was plenty of room. Our 97 year old nanny also stayed with us and the handicap ramp and zero entry shower was perfect!! The wedding was fabulous!!! I would highly recommend camp serenity to anyone looking for a spacious home on a lake to rent! Well worth the money.
We rented Camp Serenity as an alternative to staying in Cooperstown, NY. The owners were extremely easy to work with. They even hung a Happy Birthday banner for my Dad who was celebrating his 65th. The views from the house were fantastic. The house was clean and well prepared for our visit. The owners provided plenty of information on the house, lake, cooperstown, and restaurant recommendations (highly recommend Brooks' BBQ). The drive to Cooperstown only took about 20 minutes and we were able to enjoy the town and the Baseball Hall of Fame. I highly recommend this house if you would like to visit Cooperstown but dont want to stay in a hotel. Thanks for the great trip!
Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time staying at Camp Serenity. The house was even better than we imagined and it had everything we needed. The rooms were huge, the beds were comfortable, the towels were nice and fluffy :-) We loved hanging out in the porch with an awesome view of the lake. Even though the weather was a lot cooler than we had hoped, a few of the adults and the kids went in to the lake for a dip. It wasn't for me, but I had fun taking pictures of the brave ones in our party.
We had rented many houses in the past and Camp Serenity is one of the very few we'd love to go back to someday.
Thanks for letting us stay in your home!
Thank you for such a well-kept place! For 5 mature adults, we had plenty of space to spread out. Spent most of the time on the sun porch. Extra table is nice for jigsaw puzzles. Wi-fi was nice to try out. One I-pad connected, one didn't. Saw an eagle repeatedly. Plenty of linens (great towels!), pillows, dishes & kitchen gear. Being able to do laundry cuts down on the packing for a week. Location is easy access for touring around the area, especially for non-baseball fans! Check out Jerry's Place for food & game room. Even our 50-80 yr. olds had fun. Farmer's Museum is a great resource, as long as you are ready for walking. Hopefully the swamp trail will be fixed behind the Opera building. It looked like an inviting walk. Just looking around at the unique houses & buildings in the towns was nice. April is too early for us for kayaking (high water would be tough entering boats from ladder or deck for the less nimble), but the deck was wonderful for sitting out on, even with a blanket! We imagine in baseball season the cottage is a little busier with families & kids. Plenty of puzzles & games for rainy days. Being on the water is always relaxing. Bring your binoculars, you never know what you might see.
Our son's team participated in the Cooperstown Little League Baseball tournament during our stay. Two families totalling 9 people stayed at this comfortable lake house. There was plenty of room and then some for all of us. Fully equipped kitchen was great. Our hosts were very attentive to our needs-when we told them that the window a/c unit was not working, they installed a new one later that day while we were at the park. The drive to the baseball park was easy and enjoyable. We rented kayaks and canoes from a nearby shop and had it delivered to the house which was nice. View from the sunroom overlooking the lake was great and our youngest daughter enjoyed fishing from the deck during the entire stay. You will NOT be disappointed with this lakehouse.
