The Riviera del Brenta is a place rich in history and natural beauties and offers visitors a wide range of itineraries and attractions among which to choose for an unforgettable stay: not only the sumptuous villas along the Brenta river, ideally connected to Venice Gran Canal and witnessing the ancient Serenissima's power, but also the many churches and fortresses of the territory.
Traditional fairs along the river Brenta
A surprisingly rich carnet of events to enliven the Riviera all year long: not only traditional festivals and local fairs, masked parades by boat and local 'tastes' but also important exhibitions and concerts!
Among the most important events to take place in the beautiful setting of the Riviera del Brenta is the 'Blooming Riviera',a parade on the placid waters of the Brenta River.
In the year 1574 Henry III, king of France, descended along the Brenta Riviera to meet the Doge of Venice at the Contarini Villa dei Leoni. It is this important historical episode that the traditional riverside event of Riviera Fiorita re-enacts, for the twenty-sixth time, Sunday the 14th of September 2004.
The placid waters of the Brenta, with its historical mansions and lush gardens, act as a frame for several hundred vessels, parade boats, 'bissone' and 'caorline', with over 1100 extras, rowers and musicians - all in costume.
By boat along the river:
slipways, gangways and landing stages
The network of rivers and canals has linked the villages of the Riviera for thousands of years. There are dozens of canal locks, swing bridges, quaysides, gangways, jetties, slipways and sloping banks: the fully-equipped system that means you can enjoy the Brenta in the oldest and most fascinating way: by boat.
