Ideal as a luxurous get-away or a base for touring the north west with its beautiful coastline and many archological sites including local historic Abbeys at Moyne, Rosserk and Rathfran and the Ceide Fields Neolithic site. The local picturesque village of Killala with its 12th centuary Round tower and small fishing quay (7 minutes drive) has two supermarkets and several pubs with good food, music and craic. Ballina (12 minutes drive) has more facilities including swimming pool, leisure centre and gym, cinema and many resturants. A fishermans paradise with local deep sea and shore fishing, lake fishing and the famous Moy river for salmon. Several unspoilt and usually deserted Blue Flag beaches are nearby; great cycling and walking oppertunities on quiet country roads or mountain biking, hillwalking and trekking for the more adventurous. Horse riding and lessons are available locally. Golf is also popular with a super parkland course at Ballina and famous links course at Eniscrone
